We had the good fortune of connecting with Dave Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dave, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is to be world renowned and known for creating art that has helped or inspired people across the globe.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m from Dayton, OH and graduated from Trotwood Madison Highschool. When i was young i was able to experience art here and there but as I got older it became less prevalent in my life until i graduated high school. I was taught to go to college and get a good paying job because art was a dead end dream. I tried the college thing. I went to wright state for engineering for a couple of years and was good at but wasn’t happy. I made the choice to follow my dream of being an artist and started taking art classes at Sinclair community college. There my instructors helped me build a solid foundation with skills and technique. I was able to develop my own style that set my art apart from my peers.
Once i gained the confidence to put my self out there as an artist i was on my way.
I’m most proud of my decision to go full time with my art career. The journey hasn’t been easy at all. But once i put more time and energy into my craft i was able to overcome the obstacles that were in my path.
I put more time into making my art, learning new things and being prolific with my process. I put more energy into showcasing my work through different platforms which allowed me to network and expand my reach. Within my business, Risk equals reward. The more i put into it the more I get out of it. In one way or another.
On my journey I’ve learned to create my art for myself because it has the most impact with the audience. If my creations resonate with me it allows for the most accurate representation of my vision. Also, you’ve got to have faith in the process, follow through, and execute ideas. Continuously set the bar and raise the bar with your goals. Reincarnate everyday into a better you.
For the future, I’m honestly excited to see what i can create and who i can inspire.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My oldest sister, Natalya Goodwin she has always been a positive role model in my life and has had my back when no one else did. She has always allowed space for me to be myself at every stage in my life.
