We had the good fortune of connecting with David Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, how do you think about risk?
I’m a heavy believer of high risk, high reward. You have to give a lot and in return, one day, you’ll get more back. No matter what it is, whether its time doing free work, money investing in yourself or just giving to the community and others around you, it all circles back to you.

Before I got anything paid I gave up hours and hours of time doing free work and so much more. I truly feel that doing that has given me the opportunities I have today.

The biggest thing is don’t expect anything in return.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s definitely not easy, theres countless ups and downs and alongside dealing with your personal life outside of your career path it takes a lot. Being able to balance that is super important when it comes down to it, and you definitely need to give yourself a break.

Honestly I’m just proud to be where I am today and to have been able to make it from the ground up. Not everyone can do that, and some people can’t even make it past the first step, and that’s what a ton of people don’t realize, even making the first step, you’re already doing more than so many people.

Honestly I think what makes me different is how I approach things, I feel as though in my area specifically, people are always competing and trying to do better than one another and not looking out for each other like they should be. It’s all about approach really, and I think its super important to feel welcoming and help one another out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well since I’m actually not in LA at the moment, I’ll give recommendations to my current area as well as LA.

Personally KTown in LA is my favorite place to be, the food and the environment are amazing. Definitely the food, theres so many options and asian food is one of my favorite things to eat. So you can never go wrong with the food in KTown!

Here in the DC area, I’d honestly say stray away from being inside DC, which can be fun for touristy things, but since we’re on the lines of food, I think Northern Virginia has amazing places to eat, Annandale specifically! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to all the people who believed in and support me for the few years that I’ve been pushing forward. I would literally be no where if it werent for the people that helped get me where I am today by simply sharing my work, following me on social media and just interacting with me in general.

A person is nothing without the network and relationships they have.
