Meet David Uzzardi | Product Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with David Uzzardi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
UpPhoto happened naturally. I was working full time as a product photographer and friends were repeatedly coming to me for help with their brands and it just kinda evolved from there. One day I looked up and I had a business. Eventually I quit my day job to focus on the UpPhoto exclusively.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
UpPhoto is a boutique product photography studio that provides specialized, individual attention, when you work with us you work with me. That really sets us apart form other, larger studios that work with many different photographers at once. It was not easy to get to where I am today. I had and still have to go above and beyond the normal expectations of a business to really stand out and retain our clients. I’ve learned that there is no easy straight path to successes, the road is always winding and changing so you have to be adaptive and always be growing and learning.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The San Gabriel Valley has some of the best hiking in the county, it’s less populated and you only have to hike a short while to reach waterfalls and other amazing landmarks. The trails of Altadena are the best.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
