We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAndre Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeAndre, what do you attribute your success to?
Hmmm, you know I feel that my ability to communicate my creative authenticity and pour that into conveying a solid brand message has been a key factor. My inspiration is influenced by both my upbringing in the urban landscape of LA, and my infatuation with the intelligent design and elements of nature—fusing and bridging the two creates a unique experience that people are receptive to. People appreciate the product offerings but also the perspectives and values Morris + Wade upholds.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is truly an extension of me and I feel like what sets me apart from others is my vantage point because it’s more like water. What I mean by that is water can take on many shapes, textures, and forms but it never commits to anything but itself. I have the unique ability to create physical works, digital works, works that can captivate all of your senses, and one of those works is M+W. As for my influence, all of it comes from the natural world, nature is perfectly imperfect, it’s my spark and my master teacher. This journey has taken my entire lifetime to get where I am today. Was it easy? Absolutely not. I’ve had to build, breakdown, then rebuild many times and with each reconstruction I’ve lived a new existence; like a tree that sheds its leaves then regrows them for the new season. Every day it’s about doing the inner work, focusing on the mission and not the distractions. Our brand story is Poetic, a story of Nature, Culture, Legacy, and Craftsmanship. It’s about honoring the natural world and our bodies, and the connection with the people we serve keeps the story going.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man.. Ok! So first and foremost this will be an eclectic experience.

Day 1 – We’re definitely going for a hike, maybe in the Santa Monica Mountains or PV. Mid day – Hitting up True Food Kitchen – El Segundo. Evening time – Float Labs – Westwood, We gotta get into a relaxed state after all of the traveling. After Float Labs we’ll go to Kazu Nori which is a block away; I love their hand rolls.

Day 2 – We head to Simply Wholesome on Slauson; it’s a black owned LA staple. Mid Day – We’ll be stopping by Cafe Gratitude – Larchmont. Evening time – It’s time to wind down with a relaxing meditation.

Day 3 – Gonna do some yoga and meditation. Mid Day – Gotta pull up to Stevie’s Creole Cafe – Mid City Area. Evening Time – Closing out the day at my favorite movie venue IPIC – Westwood.

Day 4 – It’s a must to get my daily dose of nutrition, Crazy Rockin Juice – Torrance is my spot, I love their selection of juices, smoothies, and bowls. Mid Day – We’ll chill by the pool and do some grilling and have friends over; that would probably carry to the evening time as well.

Day 5 – Early meditation and yoga, then head to Crazy Rockin Juice. Mid Day – I have to see my guy Sushi Yoshi – Torrance, he’s a legend, I’ve been going there for at least 10 years. Whoever is reading this if you decide to go there ask for the DeAndre Special Chirashi. Evening Time – We’ll end the day with a sound healing experience – Venice Beach.

Day 6 – Probably make smoothies at home. Mid day – Head out and tour some local LA Art galleries. Evening Time – It’s time for ramen at Izakaya Ajido – Torrance.

Day 7 – Probably Slide to Roscoes or Bru’s, I enjoy both. Mid Day – We’re headed to Alexander’s Steak House – Pasadena, it’s one of my favorite steak houses, Evening time – Calling it a night hosting is done!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my ancestors without them my parents wouldn’t exist nor would I. Shoutout to my parents, my son Cam, I’m very proud of him. My teachers all throughout school who’ve had the greatest impact on my journey, my closest friends/family, and my girlfriend T for the deep support and guidance in helping me keep my fire going.
