We had the good fortune of connecting with DeeIsaac Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeeIsaac, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose the life of a creative road warrior for the simple fact that it is my truth at a thousand miles per hour. I played football for the majority of my life. I had the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. Playing for the University of Kansas. Football was not my first passion though. Skateboarding was, I had to retire early for the harsh climate skateboarders in Kansas experienced. I used to be called all sorts of things outside of my name and have drinks thrown at me from the road. I got fed up of being different and attacked for it. So I decided to become another brick in the wall and pursue football in high-school. This began a long journey which ended up taking me across the country playing in front of thousands of fans and receiving my degree. BUT this groovy conquistador was not satisfied. I needed to feel. I needed a second childhood. This ultimately led me to quit the grid-iron game and pursue something I’ve always wanted and that’s TOTAL-EXPRESSION. I am currently acting and drawing. And this makes me feel like a diamond in an ice storm. I have no clue where this is going to take me but I’m riding the wave like Johnny Tsunami baby¡

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This road warrior named DeeIsaac Davis is an actor and avid drawer from the bowels of Wichita Kansas. I feel like every artist is an individual, molded by experience and scars alike. I feel like taking a leap of faith has helped me reach my artistic expression that I live today. For example in acting, I feel that letting go of expectations and moving by the beat of your own drum has attracted opportunities. FOR THERE IS PLENTY TO GO AROUND FAM. I think that watching my favorites growing up and mimicking there performances in the mix with my own feng shui has helped my develop myself as well as taking classes! In terms of my drawing, taking interest in a range of different artists from Jean Michel Basquiat to Yayoi Kusama. I think the most important thing for me especially in my work has been to put the color on the paper and draw. And if you do it enough, you start to see your style develop and marinate into the paper. You got to love it baby! It’s truly a vibe to watch your self grown artistically is a beautiful evolution. I would love Los Angeles to know that I am here to stay and work and grow. Along with the rest of the little girls from Sweden with dreams of silver screen quotation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first I would take them to my favorite place in Los Angeles. Venice baby, the ghetto by the sea. DOGTOWN. I love the gritty culture and I dream of shredding the park on a weekly basis. Then I would take the homie to La Pupusa Loca, which is a swanky El Salvadorian restaurant in Hollywood. The place is scrumptious diliumptious. For that night, would def make a resy for Olivetta in West Hollywood. Food is the truth with some cheese on it. And for dessert, we would hit Bar Henry in Echo parks for some drinks. The vibes are off the chain and the people are groovy as all get out. That would be an eventful day in this concrete jungle for sure.
