Meet Deepak Mandy | Business Man

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deepak Mandy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deepak, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
CBD Movers began because moving is hard, and most companies didn’t help. Back then, I saw movers just shifting stuff; with no care for customers, their time, or trust. So, we stepped up to make moving easy and stress-free.
I wanted to change that. I dreamed of something better: relocations so smooth they felt easy, professional crews, and tech that outsmarts delays. What started with just one truck and a small team has now grown into an international brand spanning Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UAE, and the UK. Every mile driven, every box packed, has been about pushing boundaries and making moves memorable for all the right reasons.

What should our readers know about your business?
CBD Movers doesn’t just move things; we help people start anew. We do home moves, office moves, and tricky specialist jobs. What makes us special is that we treat customers like family and use smart tools to get it right.
I take pride in how we have built our brand. We provide reliable & professional service. We don’t just move belongings; we ensure peace of mind. CBD Movers offers competitive pricing without compromising quality. We make professional moving services affordable. And, we leverage technology to make relocations smoother.
But getting here wasn’t easy. We have had to navigate economic downturns, operational setbacks, and intense competition. Expanding internationally came with regulatory hurdles, market differences, and cultural learning curves. However, each challenge pushed me to adapt, rethink strategies, and stay ahead of industry trends.
The biggest lesson I have learned? Consistency wins. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and success isn’t about one big breakthrough; it’s about showing up every day, solving problems, and improving constantly.
What do I want the world to know about CBD Movers? We don’t just move homes. We move dreams, businesses, and futures, and we do it with care, expertise, and innovation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends visited, I’d plan a week full of the city’s best food, fun activities, interesting sights, and time to relax. Here’s how I’d plan the perfect week:
Day 1 – City Landmarks & Food Tour
Start with brunch at a top cafe, maybe Hardware Societe in Melbourne.
Walk through the CBD, Federation Square, and Southbank.
Lunch at Chin Chin for a taste of Melbourne’s legendary food scene.
Evening at Eureka Skydeck, ending with drinks at a rooftop bar like Naked for Satan.
Day 2 – Adventure & Nature
Drive to Great Ocean Road for breathtaking coastal views.
Stop at Bells Beach for some surfing or just to enjoy the ocean breeze.
Lunch at a local seafood spot in Lorne.
Return in the evening for a casual dinner in St Kilda.
Day 3 – Wine & Relaxation
Head to Yarra Valley for a day of wine tasting and fine dining.
Visit iconic wineries like Domaine Chandon or Yering Station.
A relaxed evening at a spa retreat.
Day 4 – Sports & Entertainment
If it’s AFL season, we’d watch a game at MCG.
Dinner at a Japanese or steakhouse restaurant.
End the night at Crown Casino for a bit of fun.
Day 5 – Beach & Coastal Vibes
Spend the day at Mornington Peninsula – beach, hot springs, and fresh seafood.
Sunset drinks at a beachside bar.
Day 6 – Local Markets & Hidden Gems
Explore Queen Victoria Market or South Melbourne Market for a taste of local culture.
Visit hidden laneways, street art, and boutique stores.
Wrap up with dinner at a chef’s special dining experience.
Day 7 – Relaxed Farewell
A slow breakfast, a final stroll along the Yarra River, and some last-minute shopping before the trip ends.
This itinerary is a mix of food, adventure, culture, and relaxation, everything a perfect trip should be!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
No success story is built alone. Success needs support. I am thankful to my family. They stood firm through every challenge, hurdle, and sleep-deprived nights.
Next, my team at CBD Movers. Some with me from the start. Their dedication, hard work, and belief in our mission have been the backbone of our success. I also owe a lot to mentors and fellow entrepreneurs I have met along the way. Mentors shaped my business approach. They showed me how to run a business. Tough times taught me to bounce back and plan better.
