We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Ebeling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, how does your business help the community?
We are an event planning team that helps our clients plan events that are sustainable and beautiful. These two things are not mutually exclusive and we love helping guide our couples through the process. It not only is better for the environment but it is also an opportunity to up-level your event and create awareness to the guests causing a ripple effect. This helps our couples feel good about their event and reduces their stress as well. After each event we also make a donation to a nonprofit organization in honor of our couples. We have a few charities on a short list, in the rare instance our couples don’t have one in particular they want to support, and we will direct our donation to one of those. On Earth Day, we also make a bonus donation to the Surfrider Foundation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We get to know each client personally so we can help bring to life the unique event they have envisioned. From finding the perfect venue, to designing every last detail, we organize their celebration whether it be their wedding, birthday party, mitzvah or beach picnic proposal to be perfect for them. We want them to have fun along with their guests creating cherished memories versus being worried about why the vendor got stuck in traffic or another small detail that we will work out behind the scenes and it will never really impact their event.

We also help our clients incorporate sustainability & philanthropy into their events while maintaining quality & beauty, telling their unique celebration story from beginning to end, allowing them to enjoy the planning process. We make things smooth, lay out timelines, schedule their meetings and help them feel at ease. Our goal is to help each couple every step of the way, feel excited about the planning journey and ready to tackle the next step.

Another aspect of my business is wine tastings. I became a sommelier when I worked for Disney. It was a hard process and after hours of studying for several months, passing the exam was a great feeling. Now as a part of our services, we also offer a unique wine pairing experience for our clients who want to up-level their event’s food and beverage experience. It is a fun way to introduce a novice to wine or to keep the wine aficionado happy for hours!

While the path to being an entrepreneur has been challenging and bumpy at times, it is also super rewarding. Knowing that I am able to grow a business from the ground up has been amazing and I wouldn’t change it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am so excited that our numbers have dropped and it is safe enough again to do all the fun things in our amazing state. We would definitely go to Disneyland and eat at Carthay Circle. We would grab Boba at Ding Tea and some delicious pastries at Porto’s Bakery. Then once we got back to Malibu, one night we would have dinner at Cafe Habana and we would certainly grab Oat Milk Caramellos at Caffe Luxxe to enjoy on their patio. Then we would head to Zuma beach to surf and we would also go for a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains. We would grab acai bowls at SunLife and end with a dinner at Geoffrey’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have had the pleasure of being mentored by some phenomenal people throughout my career. Leaders that have inspired me, helped me grow, allowed me to make mistakes and helped me get back on my feet at times. Right now, I am honored to be surrounded by some great groups of wedding vendors who have come together during the past year to form an even stronger community than before. Liz Coopersmith, Holy Gray, Deena Nash, Margaux Fraise, Emily Petrie, Natalie Frank (our fearless leader) and all the chairs from the Tuesday Togethers group in the greater Los Angeles area have pushed me to be the best leader I can be for our Thousand Oaks chapter. Every member who participates in our (currently virtual) meetings inspires me as well. Other amazing wedding planners including Tina, In The Cloud Events, Karla, Kiss and Say I Do, Dee, Dee Lee Designs, Carol, The Blushing Details, Sarah, My Wedding Songbird, Linda, Lavish Event Weddings, Peggy, Timeless Celebrations, Emily, Events by Emily Kay, Jason, Rheefined, Jessica, Art & Soul Events, Rohi, Rohi Mizrahi Events and Renee, Moxie Bright Events also encourage, support and inspire me. Can the list get any longer? YES! I am really inspired by everyone I come into contact with and most recently it has been people I haven’t met. I have worked hard to create a Wedding community on Clubhouse and I appreciate everyone that has participated over the past few months. Lastly, it’s my kids, Aubrey & Sawyer who have been incredibly resilient this past year. My family and my kids are what fuel me daily  and are the most important part of my life. I am thankful to everyone in my life for being special!
