Meet Christina Stroh | Founder & Teacher of Soaring Chicken Farm Ministry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Stroh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, there was not alot of thought behind it. I never was like, I want to start a business. I was in the middle of a difficult divorce and on a journey of reconnecting with parts of myself that I lost along the way. As part of my healing journey, and with the help of my Christian faith, I began to do things I never thought I could do. I began walking by faith, not by sight. The first big step for me was getting chickens. I’d always wanted a farm since I was a child but grew up where farms and livestock were never allowed. I would have to move if I wanted to have them. With everything going on in my life, that was just not possible. So, I took a leap of faith and got myself some chickens- even though they were not allowed. And from that day forward, I began to take more “scary” steps, and each step opened the door to a new opportunity. I would walk through each door, with tons of criticism and negative support, but kept going, led by my faith. After so many steps, the business bloomed.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are more than just a farm; we are a 501(c)(3) faith-based sanctuary where people can go to build community, learn and love on animals and plants, and leave feeling refreshed and renewed. Unlike commercial operations, our focus isn’t on industry, but on individuals. We are dedicated to self-sustainability, practical life skills, and the beauty of living in harmony with the land.
We offer outdoor educational classes—ranging from homesteading and wilderness survival to youth camps and provide a space for people to reconnect with the abundant resources God has provided. Our goal is to empower our community to become intentional stewards of the earth, believing that no matter what walk of life you come from, your greatest trials can be transformed into triumphs.
What sets us apart is our environment and our faith. When you visit us, you aren’t walking into a commercial facility; you are stepping into a warm, natural home. You’ll interact with our animals in their daily lives and experience the peace of a setting that prioritizes faith over profit. There is truly nothing quite like it.
I got here today by choosing not to give up. I chose to tune out the critics and believe that the desires in my heart were placed there by God for a reason—to be shared with others. I wouldn’t be here without a support system that encouraged me to keep moving forward, even when the path was steep. I am proud of the testimonies I’ve received over the years and the positive impact this ministry has had in so many lives. And I’m excited for the future, making a difference in the community and leaving a legacy of light and love.
Was it easy? Absolutely not. I’m laughing because building this has pushed me to my limits in many different ways. I wanted to give up many times, but I learned on the days that I felt like quitting, I just needed to rest. The lessons I’ve learned along the way have been life-changing. I’ve realized that if you face disapproval or criticism, you’re often on the right track; after all, Jesus and many biblical figures were surrounded by haters while fulfilling their divine purpose. I draw constant inspiration from the figures in the Bible who endured much to see God’s promises through. In a world that is constantly rushing, I’ve learned the value of going slow and waiting on the Lord. My encouragement to anyone reading this is simple: Do it. Follow your dreams and take that first step. Do it scared if you have to, but keep going. It won’t always be easy—nothing truly worthwhile ever is—but the reward of seeing God work through your obedience is beyond measure.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To me, peace is found outside and away from the noise. Doheny has a special place in my heart—it’s where I take my kids to slow down, build a bonfire, and catch the sunset together. I’m also a big fan of the Dana Point harbor; you can usually find me grabbing a coffee at Coffee Importers or enjoying an acai bowl from Alohana Acai.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Testimony Life played a huge part in encouraging me in my faith and to keep going, when no one else did. During my divorce, they were the ones walking right beside me, crying with me, and lifting me up. They gave me the strength to keep going when I felt like quitting. Because of their support, I was able to find my footing again and deeply root my identity in Christ. I am so grateful for how they paved the way for this ministry to happen.
