Bumpers is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University, He worked in oil field back in Houston with plans to attend law school and later practice law in oil field and start private practice. He was hit with the acting bug and for years had been encouraged to be in the entertainment industry but had no interest in it at an earlier age. He went with an old friend as moral support to audition and while in waiting room he heard lines being recited by another actor that was there to audition and Bumpers blurred out “I wouldn’t had said it like that”. Casting Director and Producer heard him recite lines and loved his tone, energy, and look. DeMarcus was asked to audition and said “No” 2x before saying yes to Director on 3rd attempt. Armed with the right ingredients to be successful in entertainment industry he had no idea of the chain of events that would set off spiraling chain of events forever changing trajectory of his career and life.
