Meet Denis Boateng | Content Creator & Brand Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Denis Boateng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denis, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk is a beautiful and such a powerful step to take, because its a bold action to pretty much put yourself on notice that you are all in. Risk to me is a synonym (Realizing I’m Still Killing it) the extra I is just a reminder that I’m in it. The role that taking risks has played in my life is simply the audacity to dream, the parts where I’ve come from a majority of people don’t dream out loud, though many are special it takes a dose of encouragement, curiosity, faith, and self belief. In that sense I’m blessed taking risks is a blessing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is simply this, I am me and I’m not trying to be anyone else or a version of anyone else in my space. I admire many who have come before me and the reason for my admiration is because they are who they are and no one else. The thing that I am most proud about is creating with my family, my wife Donielle and I have been together for 7 years, married for 4 and creating together since we built a friendship, not many can say that. Of course, it has its bumps in the road, but the excitement is unmatched. We create content for ourselves and others full time and just a decade ago that was not an ideal way to feed your family, but we made the decision to take that path. Walking away from or turning down job opportunities, or being laid off is never easy when you’ve got bills to pay or family to support, many will judge, question how you manage your time, but its all worth it when you are grounded in something called purpose.
I want the world to know that I am going to continue to build healthy relationships, go after everything that will make me a better person, and always make sure my family is taken care of first. This life of creativity and living your dreams in real life is a blessing if you want it to be, but there is definitely a responsibility that comes with it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well since I just recently moved from Torrance, CA to Las Vegas this is interesting as I am still exploring this city full of amazing people. As of right now my life goes a little something like this I attend the most of amazing church on Sunday, City Light Vegas lead by Pastor Jabin & Shanen Chavez amazing community and great way to get connected, after church my family and I may try a new restaurant so far my favorite has been Calabash a West African restaurant with an amazing vibe and food. Monday I go workout first thing in the morning, I go and run stadium stairs with a group of guys at UNLV. The rest of the week my wife Donielle and I work from home, we want to start trying new places nearby for lunch or co working spaces to change the vibes a bit. On Friday morning I go visit my barber and great friend D Widders at Faction Barbershop the best place to be in my opinion. On Saturdays I’ve started to check out the Art District to hit up some thrift shops and sneaker consignment spots to possibly grab some heat. Still new to the scene so I’m discovering as I go, I’m sure there’s much more to do than to just hit the strip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my my wife Donielle, my son Dash, my parents, my brothers, my whole family really, along with the friends who have consistently pushed me, invested in me, spoken life into whatever situation I was dealing with, it all counts. All prayers long and short, I am grateful for it all. A book that was gifted to me by my good friend Bruce Fields during a tough time helped and still helps, I would recommend everyone to get it Rules of the Red Rubber Ball by Kevin Carroll. My bros Steve James who has encouraged me through entrepreneurship, Eddie Oppong for our weekly creative and life talks, Daniel Robertson III our friendship and his trust in my creative ideas built my creative confidence, my barber D Widders love that guy like a brother always encouraging me to be a great leader, look I could go on and on, but this is for everyone involved in my life in a healthy and loving way, I thank God for you.
