We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise A Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise A, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I am a visual person. From beginning to end, I am able to see every piece, choose every detail and watch it all come to life once completely together.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the Owner & Lead Creative in my Wedding/ Event Planning company called Hactac Events. I’m proud of how much we have grown and changed especially in the current state of the world. I got where I am today with hard work. I made the connections I needed, did the research, studied my industry and continue to this day to learn so I am in a good position for continued growth. It wasn’t easy and nothing worth it will come easy but once I pushed through the rejection, failures and losses, I was able to see the rewards. I am still learning something new each and every day. My biggest learning lesson right now is just separating my business life from my personal life in order to grow the business better in financial ways. We are growing and expanding past our tri- state location. We are available to travel and we produce all type of events. We do Weddings, Social Gatherings, Corporate and Celebrity Events.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a spa type of girl. The weekend would consist of a spa weekend. My favorite place is Sojo spa in NJ and they have a hotel so we would definitely stay there. There’s tons to eat in that area. There’s a Mexican place not to far for one day, then a seafood boil spot. It’s a small space but sometimes, those are the best food places to eat. It would be the perfect way to unwind. Nice hotel stay by yourself, with a girlfriend or someone special. Daily spa treatments and amenities with great food and a few drinks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son!! I would not be on this journey if I did not have him. My business started to make his first birthday cake and with successfully doing so, we continued to grow, creating this business into what it is today.
