Meet Denise Williams-Jones | RDA, Dental Speaker and Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Williams-Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
It is necessary to take risks in life. I have talked about this with many people and asked them if they could change one thing in their life, what would it be? Most said they wish they would have done more, taken more chances, and not been afraid. They wished they would have taken a risk on things. I never want to be that person. As humans, we get so afraid of doing things differently and allow fear of the unknown to stop us from being our best selves. I am guilty of this at times as well. I constantly remind myself that I will not get the rewards if I do not take a risk. It goes hand and hand.
Risk has played a big part in my life as I worked between two dental offices for 27 years with a steady paycheck and security. However, it was not my passion. My passion was to have a thriving consulting business and speaking career. So, I quit my job and put everything I had into Next Level to Success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Next Level to Success is my business. I am the owner and founder. I am a Dental Consultant, Coach, and Public Speaker. I am passionate about assisting dental practices increase their bottom line by coaching and training their teams on correct customer service and culture.
If I had to say what sets me apart from others, I would say it is the fact that I am a former team member, and I have been in the trenches, so I understand the challenges of the office. I bring a different approach to the table. I am most proud of the fact that I always stay authentic. What you see is what you get. I do not just talk the talk; I walk the walk.
I got where I am today by hard work and being consistent. At times, it has been tough, but I am not afraid of challenging work or hearing the word “no.” Believe me, I have learned some valuable lessons along the way like do not give up when you hear no. Keep working hard until you hear yes. I learned to always be yourself and if it is meant for you, it will happen. I will not be for everyone and that is okay. My brand is authenticity, compassion, and hard work. As long as I am true to myself and continue to be authentic, then I can say my brand is also authentic, as I am my brand.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a San Gabriel Valley girl. I was born and raised here. So, if I had to take friends or family somewhere local, I would definitely take them to The Huntington Gardens in San Marino, Ca. The gardens there are absolutely breathtaking, and Huntington Gardens has a special place in my heart as I sometimes go there, sit under a tree, and write. Next, I would take them on a food tour as we have some of the best food in our area. Din Tai Fung for dumplings, Flemings for a good steak, Gales or Bella Sera for Italian food, Pie N Burger for an amazing cheeseburger, and too many to name amazing Mexican food places. We would also have to check out some live music as there are many places in the city to find amazing talent. Los Angeles and surrounding cities have some surprisingly good farmers’ markets as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As I have embarked on this journey, I have been fortunate enough to have some amazing people in and out of the dental community in my corner. I am so thankful for them and their support that I created a Saturday shout-out on my social media platforms. I think we should never underestimate the power of saying “Thank You.” If I had to narrow down a few thank-you shoutouts, I would say my first is to Ted Moreno – my hypnotherapist, and high-performance coach. Ted keeps me balanced and calm. He reinforces my strengths and helps me conquer my fears. He helps me break habits and be my best self.
My next thank you, shoutout would be Blake Hadley of My Social Practice. Blake is in the dental industry like me and has been an amazing mentor and friend. He pushes me out of my comfort zone, believes in only creating the best, has the philosophy of getting the job done while still having fun, and encourages me to always be myself.
