We had the good fortune of connecting with Derria Underwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Derria, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. Being able to wake up each day and be my true authentic self has truly been the most important factor behind the success that I have had so far. It plays a huge part in why my audience trusts me and can identify with me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a creative and wardrobe stylist. I take pride in helping others and helping building the comfort and confidence to clothe others in threads that make them feel good everyday. I’ve learned that consistency is the key to overall growth in life and in the social media realm. My brand is synonymous with my personality. Down to Earth but I get stuff done!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place in LA is Santee Alley! That’s actually a whole day’s worth of walking and exploring. I would also check out restaurants in the Hollywood area like The Waffle and Cactus Taqueria. Two of my favorite spots to eat!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my friend Melissa Canty! She has been very helpful in helping me demand more because of the value I provide as a creator.
