Meet Diana Garcia | Brand Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We truly value all the support we’ve received, from friends and family to those who discover us at community events. Even if they don’t make a purchase, they now know who we are and can recognize our brand. Our goal has always been to create a brand that the people of Palmdale, CA, can proudly embrace and feel excited to represent beyond the city’s limits.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Land of Joshua Trees: A Palmdale Original was born on January 1, 2018—new year, new project! The idea, however, had been in the making for much longer. Back in 2008, during my high school senior project (yes, dating myself here), I dreamed of creating my own design brand—something unique that represented where I came from. I wanted to show Palmdale, CA, as more than just a passing reference in a stoner song.
The Joshua Tree became the symbol of this vision. There was a particular Joshua Tree near my house that always stood out to me. Tall, majestic, and resilient, it stood proudly in the middle of nowhere, embodying strength and beauty. That tree became my inspiration.
It’s incredibly rewarding when someone stops by our booth, browses our items, and shares how much they appreciate seeing something that represents Palmdale. Moments like that remind us why we started this journey.
Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. We’ve experienced both successful and challenging events—some leaving us questioning if it was all worth it. But every setback taught us something valuable. Not every day will be a win, but we keep moving forward, learning, and growing, because this dream is worth it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely do a nice nature walk at Devil’s Punch Bowl. Then we can do a coffee break at Trio Coffee. Then we can do lunch at Jasmine Thai for the best pad thai. Dinner has to be at Lucky Luke’s on the Blvd

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many individuals who I have had the pleasure of meeting in this journey of getting my brand out to the public. The Signing Stick Figure (@thesigningstickfigure) is one I have had the greatly pleasure of working with at multiple events and her products are so rad. Karla J. Kieffer (@k_j_kieffer_photography) is an amazing photographer and I love her Joshua Tree photography.
