We had the good fortune of connecting with Diego Gallardo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diego, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most diffucult decision I’ve had to make is choosing to leave home to pursue music. and the reason it was maybe harder then normal is because I moved away maybe about a 6 months after my brother passed away suddenly, sorry to just throw that info in there like that haha but it was just challenging for me to walk up to my parents and sister and talk to them and tell them that I want to move away to chase a dream that just seems like a fairy tale. I maybe feel guilty like I left to soon because in the midst of all the emotions surrounding my family from my brother we all needed each other to just have our presence there and hug and just be close too you know? we lost someone really close and it was hard. This decision still sits with me, my brother passing away just sort of woke me up and made me TRULY realize and understand that tomorrow is not promised and life is really a blessing. its still hard but I I just needed to take a chance on my self and realizing that there’s more to me and my talent outside of my home town. I moved away when I was 19 and it wasn’t easy. it still isn’t easy. I m living in the present.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I think what sets me apart from others in a sense is that I took the chance on me and I’m betting on myself. Honestly what’s most exciting is just meeting people out here in LA, literally everybody is a creative or either trying to push their agenda in a good way, you know, just trying to make things happen for themselves plus, the connections out here are crazy! I’m still definitely not where I want to be professionally, but I’ll keep working until it happens. It’s for sure not easy and can get discouraging 75 percent of the time, it’s easy to get in your head a lot, at least for me anyways. I think the thing I’ve learned the most is to just keep your head up and to just keep going, use the support from your friends and family. Don’t get me wrong, it can get lonely sometimes, but to be honest, the little fan base that I have is more than enough to keep me going. I think I would rather have people know me by my music more than me as a person, because in my music I say whatever is in my head and whatever I’m feeling at the time and so to me, I feel its just more intimate and like my listeners can connect to me on an emotional level on things I might not wanna talk about in a face to face conversation. I mean that’s the real way to get to know me honestly haha. When I create music I’m able to literally invent something that didn’t exist yesterday. I just want people to know that I put everything in my music and so when they press play on that song, they’re literally getting a piece of my soul. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man… I’m still a kid at heart so w’ere going to six flags for sure more then once haha! I’d take them to some pretty lit coffee shops here in LA, I’ve been going to this spot most recently called “COFFEA” and they have this cinnamon vanilla latte and I’ve had it for week straight now so I should probably chill. As to where we’d eat I’m a big food person so I’d say that’s about 80 percent of the things we’d do, is just go try all the good food spots. Definitely hit up Basanova, Millies cafe, dialogue cafe, Portos, etc… I could keep naming spots but I’ll stop. Maybe also do some hiking, there’s some breath taking views out here its insane. Last we’d for sure hit up some thrifts stores too, you can always get your hands on some gems out here!
