Meet Dirty the Queen | Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dirty the Queen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dirty the Queen, what makes you happy? Why?
Performing on stage as a band is a big thing that makes all of us happy. We are all very much like brothers and getting to do something you love with people you love is what it’s all about for us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We formed Dirty the Queen in the summer of 2021 as a cover band just to play some shows. In spring of 2022, we released our first original single. After that we hit the ground running playing shows in Nor Cal and So Cal. Since then we’ve released 3 more singles and have played venues such as The Whisky A Go Go, Rainbow Room, Auld Dubliner, Harvard and Stone and many more. Some of our members have recently relocated to Los Angeles and others still travel from Nor Cal for shows. We are learning that, even though it’s hard work and a lot of time and dedication, we’d have it no other way!
There are a lot of great bands in Los Angeles and our goal is to be among them. We feel like one of the things that really sets Dirty the Queen apart from the rest is that we will always put on an entertaining show and leave it all on the stage. If you take time out of your day to come out and see us, then we will always make sure to give you one of the best damn rock shows you’ve ever seen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely going to hook them up with Jonny Dam and his Rock n Walk Tour – that’s a MUST for anyone! Obviously, we are big music lovers so we would definitely take our guests to the music hotspots around LA that show local/touring artists – The Whisky A Go Go, The Viper Room, The Rainbow Room, Hotel Ziggy, Harvard and Stone, Hotel Cafe, Gold Diggers and so many more. For our friends that like to get more involved, we know a place who puts on live band karaoke and that’s always a great time! Since So Cal also has some of the most beautiful beaches around, we’d be sure to show them Venice, Huntington and, of course, the Santa Monica pier. There are so many killer locally owned restaurants and bars in LA and we all love to support local establishments. You can’t go wrong with a good brewery like Brewyard, El Segundo, Ballast Point or Golden Road. Lastly, we usually like to end the night with a killer taco truck!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many artists and business owners we can give it up to but just to name a few of our faves: Stutz Bearcat, Goodnights and The Pride. These are all bands we’ve shared the stage with and they all bring it! Make sure you catch one of their upcoming shows if you can. Tadashi is a killer up and coming producer that anyone who’s looking for a great Lo Fi or hip hop vibe should check out. Enoch Jensen and Justin Fleuriel helped us out with recording, mixing and mastering a few of our latest tracks. Hit them up for all of your recording needs! Cute Rigs has set up a few pedalboards for our lead guitarist. Johnny Gomez (owner of Cute Rigs) works with many high profile artists and is a true pro at what he does. He will get your pedalboard setup right. Johnny is also a monster guitar player himself! If you need horn repair then Instrumend Mobile Brass and Wind repair is your go to! Kyle Stolz is not only a great brass/wind repairman but he’s also a helluva saxophone player. Tyler Miles and Clement Hathaway are both amazing photographers that we’ve had the pleasure of working with – They both can capture the moment perfectly. Check out their work!
