We had the good fortune of connecting with Dj A-ski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To fulfill a need in meeting above the standard in quality and selection.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a DJ and creative, I have always made it an aim to keep quality at the forefront along with presentation. Going through trial and error of making beat loop tapes in middle school gave me a sense of what the market embraced beyond what was trendy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the places I would take them is Maverick’s Flat in the Crenshaw District. That place was like a mythical story that forever lives in legend. The best of talent in Soul,Funk and Rhythm and Blues got their schooling on their stage. From Earth, Wind and Fire, Rufus, Marvin Gaye,etc It was the Funky version of The Troubadour. A good place to eat is Simply Wholesome. Great healthy food and atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to everybody that believed in me and stayed down for the long run. I also thank the people that didn’t believe in me, which made me work harder. All love.
