We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ The Party General and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ The Party General, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Its in my genes. My dad was a former DJ in NYC. I enjoy bringing joy & fun to people so…..The Party General was born.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being The Party General has been a blessing. Its been a blast to do what you enjoy and get paid for it. Growing each & every time. I’m so appreciative of the doors that’ve been open to me because I’m a DJ/MC. Travelling more & more to showcase my skills is a dream manifesting to this day!!!! The DJ industry is always evolving & like every art, has its challenges. DJing has become watered down a little. There’s a difference between a DJ & someone w/a laptop & equipment. I stay focused & positive & keep the faith each day!!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
1 of my best friends is also a DJ so we would go to Las Vegas & checkout his favorite DJ, Jazzy Jeff live. Then we would go to the casinos & gamble for a bit. Grab some drinks, go to the sportsbook & watch some baseball. Then we would DJ a gig together. That would be a perfect time!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
