We had the good fortune of connecting with Doranna De Bortoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Doranna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After 30 years of my career, I can say that it is about to realize that it is required to sow seeds of passion for my work, perseverance, courage, humility every day with love. I learned that sometime we falls down and that we always have to stand up again. At work as in life it is a metter of always adjustin the shot to find the bes strategy

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Something that I love about my profession is that each person is a special universe, in my work I always seek to give this touch of personalization to each client. Highlighting the beauty of each woman according to what is best for her is something magical and makes me never get bored of what I do. Getting into empathy, doing an extensive investigation of what she likes or does not like with her current “look” is an important part of reaching a satisfactory result. And the smile on my face at the end of the session is what keeps me pushing myself to always improve. I always take into account the needs of my clients, we live in the Riviera Maya and very often they are people who do a lot of sport at sea. This implies learning to take better care of your hair and I love to give advice on how to care for and pamper your beautiful manes. Starting my business here was not easy, new place, new culture, different needs, but what has always motivated me is that I love my profession and it is the engine that drives me. The secret is to gradually grow and learn as you go.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When they come to visit me, I start with a walk in Playa del Carmen on 5 av. which is full of restaurants and places to shop. The first day off we would be going to Isla Mujeres for a ride in a golf cart and stopping every so often to bathe in the sea and enjoy the unique blues. Follow my second favorite place: the archaeological ruins of Cobá, it is something magical for me. Another day at the beach is dedicated to the beach of Xpuá Bay. Continue a day visiting cenotes, jumping in the fresh waters and enjoying the green of the jungle. There are thousands of cenotes so you just have to choose at the moment. If my visiting friends are divers, we are obviously going to dive into the cenotes. The walk continues through Yucatan visiting Valladolid until arriving at Chichen Itzá until arriving at the beautiful Laguna de Bacalar where I love to take them to do SUP (stand up paddle) Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The truth is that I have taken so many courses that the thank you list would be very long lol. In recent years I have learned a lot in the courses of Martin Parson (RIP) among several, on the subject of bridal hairstyles. Regarding personal motivation with Tony Robbins, among several
