We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorit Schwartz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorit, what are you inspired by?
What inspires me most is the amazing variety and beauty of nature. Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the natural world, and this curiosity has always driven my art. Over the years, I’ve worked with different materials like clay, marble, wood, and crystal. Each one has its own unique feel and story.
I’m especially inspired by the process of turning old, reclaimed wood and vibrant crystals into something new and beautiful. This lets me celebrate the wonders of nature in a fresh way.
Creating my “Light Within” collection is a big part of my inspiration. Combining wood and crystals in these sculptures helps me express the spiritual energy and beauty of the universe. The joy of transforming ideas into art and seeing others connect with my work is what keeps me passionate and happy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is deeply rooted in the natural world, blending materials like reclaimed wood and crystals to create sculptures that resonate with spirituality and beauty. What sets my work apart is its unique combination of tactile textures and symbolic meanings.
I’m most proud of how my art can evoke emotions and inspire contemplation. Each piece tells a story of harmony and balance, reflecting my belief in the healing power of nature’s elements. This connection between art and spirituality is what excites me the most—it’s a way to share a universal language that transcends words.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced challenges like balancing artistic vision with practical demands, navigating different materials, and adapting to changes in the art world. Overcoming these obstacles required resilience and creativity. I learned to stay flexible, embrace new opportunities, and constantly innovate in my work.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. One of the most important is the power of persistence and passion. By staying true to my artistic vision and continuously honing my skills, I’ve been able to grow and evolve.
Ultimately, I want the world to know that my art is a reflection of my journey—of curiosity, exploration, and spiritual growth. Through my sculptures, I hope to inspire others to connect with the beauty of nature and find their own inner light. My brand stands for authenticity, creativity, and a deep reverence for the natural world. Each piece I create is a testament to these values, inviting viewers to embark on their own journey of self-discovery and connection with the universe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d plan a week to show them the best of the area. We’d start with exploring the Strip, enjoying the High Roller Observation Wheel for a view, and then dine at Sinatra at Encore. We’d end the night with a Cirque du Soleil show. The next day, we’d head to Red Rock Canyon for hiking and a scenic drive, followed by dinner at SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. Then, we’d go to Zion National Park for some hiking and a stop at the Valley of Fire on the way back. We’d enjoy a late brunch at Mon Ami Gabi, go shopping at the Forum Shops at Caesars, and relax with a spa session and pool time at the Wynn. We’d have dinner at Salt & Ivy, experience the nightlife at XS at Encore, and have a dining experience at Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand. Throughout the week, we’d also explore local spots, meet artists, and soak in the culture.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I draw the most inspiration from my family. My kids push me to be more creative and constantly inspire my work. My husband, Ronnie, has been amazing in creating a space for me to display and develop my art. Their support and encouragement fuel my passion, allowing me to explore new ideas and bring my visions to life. They are the heart of my creative process.
