We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jessica Louie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Jessica, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I believe work-life balance is a LIE. The BIG mistake we make when focusing on achieving work life balance = thinking of balance in terms of evenly distributed hours. Why is this a mistake to focus on work life balance? It creates a Tug of War if looking at work life balance. Mindset Shift: aligning our work into our lives means gaining clarity of your purpose, values and goals. This creates a meaningful life. Focusing on what matters most to you. This is work life alignment and part of my 3-step Burnout Doctor Method to let go of people pleasing, perfectionism and live life on your terms.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hi, I love helping people find confidence to live intentional and joyful lives because we all have meaningful skills to contribute to the world. I believe people are capable of incredible things…if they feel confident in their environment and have opportunities to contribute authentically to the team. I am at my best when I’m able to push beyond the boundaries to think outside the box, challenge my team to raise the bar and help navigate the path towards simple solutions. This is who I am. I’m the CEO of Clarify Simplify Align and Host of The Burnout Doctor Podcast. I use my signature Burnout Doctor Method to coach burned out pharmacists & professionals to simplify their lives. We align work into our lives and break free from people pleasing, perfectionism and thrive in life on our terms. I’m most proud of my client wins and transformations for their lives. When we invest in ourselves, everyone around us benefits – our partners, our children, our colleagues and our patients. Through a lot of self-learning and time investment, I grew my business from July 2016 to present-day. No, it was not easy at times. Shifting my mindset and letting go of limiting beliefs was a big part of my own transformation. Surrounding myself with fellow entrepreneurs who were on the same path towards time and financial freedom was also key in my growth.
