We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lane Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Lane, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process of starting my own business was wanting to provide the highest quality of personalized and ethical care to patients.

Thorough examinations and personalized treatment plans were being traded for quick questionnaires and cookie cutter treatment programs with the goal of making clinics the most money as possible while at the expense of patients.

After seeing how healthcare through personal experience, and hearing family and friends experience was lacking and becoming too generic, I decided I wanted to make a positive impact as much as possible. The best way to do that was to create an environment where I could control the care and hold it to the highest standard, which resulted in Fast Lane Sports Therapy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The mission at Fast Lane is to provide you with the best tools and information to decrease pain, increase function, and optimize your own health. What sets us apart is the attention to detail, the knowledge of different sports, and the understanding of the importance behind a personalized training/rehab program designed for the individual specifically. We use a wealth of knowledge from strength and conditioning paired with creativity to get the most out of every rehab and training program for our patients. We are most proud of the experiences we have picked up from participating in Division 1 athletics, and working with amazing individuals in the strength and conditioning realm.

We are where we are today through many closed and open doors. Initially after graduating from chiropractic school, the goal was to work as an associate for a period of time and slowly transition to the clinic that we have today. The goal took a detour when Covid hit, and the offer that was given on the table did not align with the goals I had set out for myself. This ultimately pushed me to create the clinic you see here today, with the mission of patient centered care. Starting a clinic from scratch was no where near easy. It was filled with so much uncertainty, fear, anxiety. No one was there to say you are doing things correctly, you’re never truly ready, you just have to take the leap and be persistent, open minded and adapt as things arise.

Some lessons I have learned along the way are that it’s okay to ask for help. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own, and you’d be surprised at how many people want to see you succeed. Persistence is key as bumps in the road will surely be there, but staying persistent to the goals you have set forward will keep pushing you onward. Lastly patience, success is not built overnight. Doing things the right way may take time and thats okay. Businesses are built overtime, and the better the quality of service, the more referrals will come your way over time.

Something I want the world to know about me is my story is that I will continue to do everything in my power to uphold my views on healthcare. That is it should be patient centered care, with everything done to provide the highest quality of care possible, so if it was my own family or friends, care would stay consistent for everyone every time. Everyone that comes through the doors of Fast Lane Sports Therapy will be treated as their own individual patient and care will be personally tailored for them to get them back moving as soon as possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If anyone knows me, they would know I am a big foodie. Food is where I spend all of my money and the culprit of why my wallet is empty. If I had a friend visiting the area, I would take them out to eat. Brunch at some of my go to places in the orange circle, out in Irvine or Newport are hard to beat. Food halls around the area from Anaheim, Tustin, Santa Ana have a tremendous amount of options. Ramen and Pho are one of a kind out here and of course tacos on taco Tuesday are a must.

Disneyland in the heart of orange county is unique to the area along with the mountains and beaches within driving distance. At the end of the day, anything that they would like to try to eat with the variety in the area, and anything they’d like to see that they don’t have close to them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mentors, cohort/colleagues now, business partners, and family and friends are the ones I cannot thank enough. Fast Lane would not be possible without all of them. The mentors I have that challenged and pushed me to be better everyday and continue to be there if I have any questions are tremendous help with their wealth of knowledge.

My cohort and colleagues that share their experiences and knowledge and again push me day in and day out to uphold my standard of care and never settle are amazing.

Business partners that provided a place for Fast Lane to be born and continue to grow have been amazing.

The family and friends who have supported Fast Lane in trusting me with their care and making this business possible.

I would not be anywhere close to where I am today without all of the help I have received and I thank everyone tremendously for it.
