Meet Dr. Lisa Vallesteros | Cosmetic and General Dentist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lisa Vallesteros and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Lisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After years of working as an associate dentist and seeing my own private patients, I’ve found my passion in helping people smile confidently and inspiring them to be their best self. With this goal, I am in the process of building my startup dental business. My plan is to build a fun, comfortable and creatively innovative space where people can look forward to seeing their dentist.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a LA Native and am happy that I get to serve the community that raised me. As a dentist, it’s my goal to create a fun, safe, comfortable and caring dental home for people to reach their oral health and smile goals. This is also how my YouTube channel, Teeth Talk with Dr. Lisa, was created back in 2018. I wanted to create fun and educational dental content from tips to FAQ’s and to product reviews. I want to help patients conquer their dental fears and to help patients smile with confidence, changing their life.

I’m currently in the process of the building our start-up dental practice. It has been a dream to create this space with my husband where we can help others become their best self. Building a start-up dental practice in Los Angeles is not easy. But with the guidance of start-up programs/ consulting and FB start up groups, it makes the process more predictable and manageable.
Going through this process, I realize that your strongest muscle is your mind. Your mindset is what can make or break you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Because I am a foodie, I would obviously give them a food tour of LA from the best Korean BBQ in Koreatown, to the best Chinese food in Chinatown, then to the best coastal restaurant in Malibu. You got to love LA for the list of endless options. The best place to people watch would have to be Venice Beach. You get such an eclectic group of people there. The best mall to visit would have to be the Century City Mall. Along with the gorgeous upscale renovations, it has some of the best restaurants and stores. The beauty of LA is there is something for everyone. So find out what your best friend enjoys and you can create the perfect trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
