We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Natalie Christine Dattilo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Natalie Christine, what principle do you value most?
For me and my work, sincerity and authenticity matter most. I think about authenticity as a “meta-value,” which means that although there are many things I consider important in my life, as a guiding principle, authenticity rises to the top and supersedes all others. If I’m not being authentic and true to myself, then who I am and what I have to offer is merely performative and hollow, which helps no one. Being authentic to me means being bold and driven, soft and graceful, balanced, generous, and genuine. It means being aligned with my purpose, defines who I strive to be, and guides how I try to live. Being true to myself, my nature, my desires, and my passions is something I aim to cultivate and strengthen everyday. Helping others curate a life they love is at the core of my business and one of the most impacful expressions of authenticity and beauty I can imagine in this world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I received my doctorate in clinical health psychology from the University of Florida and completed my residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where I served as a member of the faculty for almost nine years before my passion led me to relocate my family to Boston, MA. I was offered a position as Director of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. This was one of the most rewarding opportunities of my career, as it was in this role that my team and I weathered the global pandemic of 2020 offering treatment and support to many folks through this challenging time. Prompted in many ways by the pandemic, which revealed just how easy it is to lose sight of what’s important, I now focus all my effort on translating cutting-edge research from psychology, neuroscience, and medicine into practical strategies for health & wellness, personal fulfillment, and success. After 13 years building a successful academic and clinical practice, I decided to embark on a new journey focused on prevention and a more holistic approach to mental health and wellness. I bring a unique and distinct perspective in this space as a mental health expert and thought leader whose work is rooted in science and translated into practical strategies for sustainable change. My business, Priority Wellness Consulting, endeavors to cultivate partnerships and collaborations with forward-thinking companies and brands to increase the number of lives positively enhanced by promoting lifestyle wellness products and services. We have an established track record of success partnering with companies to build custom wellness programs tailored to the specific needs and interests of their clients, customers, guests, and staff.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in any city are the places with prime people watching. I love trying new restaurants and enjoying the nightlife. During the day, coffee shops, walking tours and exploring is where you will find me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to all of my clients, patients, and students who have taught me so much over the years, more than anything I could have learned in a book or a course. It has been an honor and a privilege to be in a position to help and I am grateful to each and every one of you. I’d also like to recognize to all those inspired creatives and entrepreneurs out there pursuing their dream to make the world a better place one encounter at a time.
