We had the good fortune of connecting with Dresden Weil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dresden, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At the time I was working for a corporate company and had dedicated about 7 years of my life to them . Tired of the regular nine to five and slaving my life away , a really close friend of mine had mentioned and brought my attention to this new industry that was on the up and coming and has life changing results . Finally a chance for me to break free to start my own business and be my own boss , I decided to take a training course and the rest was history .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I love most about my profession is that I get the opportunity to change peoples lives almost everyday . I help people who are suffering from various types of hair loss by giving them back a little of what they’ve been missing with Scalp Micropigmentation also known as SMP. The look on their face after a treatment or two is beyond words . Just seeing them smile or even yet sometimes cries is why I love what I do. I’m very passionate about this art , when it comes to giving i make sure my clients have an unforgettable experience and one of a kind look specifically designed for them. Getting started was a tough road ,I took on tons of models for free, to get lots more practice in , to get my feet wet and to study different patterns of hair loss and how to treat them using Scalp Micropigmentation. After about a year I was ready to go public and really star putting my service out there when all of the sudden along came Covid. I wasnt forced to shut down, I had made the decision to close shop for the time being. That was a real hard blow because I was so excited to start working . I was very fortunate though that there were loan programs to help get me through that rough time so that my business will survive and id still have a place to work and call my home away from home . Now with things kind of getting back to normal I could say the challenge now is for me to reach a wider audience , to display my form of art to the world by making a huge impact within the hair loss industry and make sure that they know who the scalp master is .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well since I’m a native and local Angelino born and raised in LA , I’d take my friends to the local joints like the Short Stop , the echo , the grand star , the general Lee or the dragon fly . I love music so wherever they’re playing dope Hiphop , reggae or top 40s that’s where I like to be . That’s what makes LA so dope is that we have a variety of culture, music and food , so you can basically have something going on any day of the week at any time of the day to get into .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a special and huge shout out to Larissa Decker. She’s the one who lit a fire under me and continuously pushes me to be better not only a person but as a business owner . I’ve taken lots of advice from her being that she’s been in the permanent makeup industry for over 5yrs .
