We had the good fortune of connecting with E. Bugra Balci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi E. Bugra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most successful musician who are the ones invented the ‘new’ in their field. It can be romantic, baroque, contemporary or jazz or any other place in the history. What I do is that the actual information comes from the Universe/God whoever you want to believe in. I put those informations together in the sense of high artistic merit and the ones who are immortals there is that level of being endless. That’s how I can discuss music and the success together. What I do is that simply putting the best of music from 1600 to today and to future.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I was little I was a very lonely person then I became a social one with the things I have been doing such as developing the instruments in the history of humankind. It was first bass guitar and I did my best to take it from Jaco to the next level then piano came, actually piano was my first instrument but I put bass guitar front I just began playing in the city and toured with the famous singers when I was 17-18. But I began taking piano serious when I was 18 and then atonal music came I put those into the jazz, then in New York I made my first album which is a piano and synthesizer album ‘What if Bach was alive how he would reach to the all music elements and eras’. Then I began playing solo piano recitals at NY Cafe Vivaldi also played at venues jazz venues.

I also became a manager at Datapipe for Microsoft Azure, board advisor for a Wall Street company, built digital startups.

In 2017 I came back to Turkey which is my homeland and put myself into an apartment and began thinking about how Mozart became Mozart and took piano serious. Then I began playing solo piano concerts and also writing and recording The Virtuoso Pianist books which is making piano go to future level with also new elements in the music history such 1600 to today and future. I believe there is still great music that I should have done.
