We had the good fortune of connecting with E.P. Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi E.P., have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I think the best answer is to always persevere rather you take a break for a while from your goal never give up on what you initially envisioned for yourself to achieve. Especially if it’s a life long goal

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is the pure fact that I am me and they are them. No one person are alike and that’s what separates me from the rest. Although I’m very ambitious, perseverant, dominant, witty and enjoy the hustle. My career in acting began with the help of a friend I knew in the industry. I asked her if she could be my manager and help guide my career as an actor. She was writing a short film around that time named “Most Heavenly “ and invited me to be the Lead actor in the film which helped me develop my acting reel to submit for future acting roles. Eventually I began booking just off of raw talent and one of my first major roles I booked was with VetTv. My reels began to mature and I began to book with talent agencies to further my acting career. Yes there were challenges along the way and I wanted to give up on my journey, but I surrounded myself around cohorts that were ambitious and hungry that encouraged me either by their achievements and long talks about not giving up and reminding me of why I began my journey. This enabled me to pick myself up and continue my path I initially started. I wasn’t the smartest I barely graduated high school and now I’ma college graduate with my bachelors in nursing, currently in school for my master’s to become a nurse practitioner, been featured in films and videos all over social media and own several small businesses and real estate. I can say that I’m a true success story

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to breakfast at one of my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant “Met Her At A Bar” for some chicken I& waffles with mimosas. Another favorite is Joey’s DTLA to eat. I normally shop online but if I were to ship inside the mall we would go to the Westfield mall they have some of my favorite stores. We would go hiking at the Culver City Stairs which is one of my favorite pastime activities. Another dope vibe would be a nice boat ride in Long Beach to oversee the dolphins swimming and view the sunset along the horizon. For a night cap we would go to a lounge or billiards for a game of pool and cigars. I’ma pretty chilled guy don’t need to do anything over the top for fun. Although a hot air balloon ride would be dope and is next on my bucket list.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people I want to shoutout are God, my parents and my sister. My parents are someone I’d always come to for advice. My sister is also encouraging and also the reason I got into hiphop and began writing and recording music. She was at the brink of signing a recording deal and unfortunately becoming pregnant around that time she decided to be a mom first. This encouraged me that I too could make a dream a reality. I’d also like to attribute some of my success to a book called “The Secrete Law Of Attraction”. This book has opened my mind to the world of manifestation.
