Meet Edgardo Zamora | Award-Winning Luxury Event Designer & Founder of Revelry Event Designers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Edgardo Zamora and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edgardo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first started designing events in Hollywood in the 90s, luxury events featured furniture and decor that simply wasn’t up to the high caliber of the event itself. The only available furniture options came from movie set prop houses—functional but lacking in quality, versatility, and sophistication. There was nowhere to rent high-end furniture, decor, or lighting specifically designed for luxury events. I saw an opportunity to change that.
I wanted to create a one-stop shop for event design—where planners and designers could access beautifully crafted furniture, draping, lighting, and decor that could be customized to fit any vision. At the time, the ability to tailor details like fabric, color, and shape was unheard of, and I knew that level of flexibility could transform the industry. My inspiration came from the idea of taking a single item, like a table, and reimagining it in a hundred different ways to seamlessly fit any occasion.
My background as a fashion designer in Buenos Aires shaped my entire approach. In fashion, every element matters—from the way fabric moves to the smallest detail on a garment. I saw weddings and events through that same lens, treating them as couture creations. Just as a designer meticulously styles a look from head to toe, I envisioned events being “dressed” with that same level of precision and artistry. That perspective became the foundation of Revelry Event Designers—a company built to bring a high-fashion sensibility to event production, where every detail is intentional and every design tells a story.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got to where I am today professionally by taking risks. Without risk, you can’t build a career or create something truly original. My personal affirmation has always been: I can do it. No matter the challenge, I approach it with that mindset, and it has shaped everything I’ve done in my career.
The journey hasn’t been easy. After 30 years in the event industry, I’ve faced every challenge you can imagine—from unexpected weather destroying a wedding just hours before it started to last-minute client changes requiring a full redesign in under 24 hours. But I’ve learned that success in this industry isn’t just about creativity; it’s about adaptability, problem-solving, and the relationships you build. I’ve been fortunate to work with vendors I trust and an incredible team I can rely on. Delegation, collaboration, and staying calm under pressure have been key to overcoming obstacles.
I’ve learned that passion is what truly makes a difference—when you love what you do, it shines through in your work. My designs are inspired by culture, fashion, architecture, and travel. I pull from everything around me to create immersive experiences that tell a story. Creativity thrives when it’s fueled by genuine excitement, and that energy is what elevates a design from beautiful to unforgettable.
Event designers do more than just place furniture—we create the atmosphere, the energy, the feeling of a space. It’s like meeting a person for the first time—do you remember what they said, or do you remember how they made you feel? That’s what Revelry creates: moments that make you stop and say “WOW.” Every texture, every light source, every perfectly placed detail comes together to create a work of art and a one-of-a-kind experience. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about how an event looks—it’s about how it feels. And that’s what makes an event iconic.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so much to do and see in LA, but I have a few go-to spots I love. I always start the day with coffee at Peet’s Coffee. Larchmont Village is one of my favorite places to walk around, especially on Sundays when the Farmer’s Market is in full swing. Love to hike up Runyon Canyon with my dogs and see the sunset. Or take my dogs to Laurel Canyon Dog Park, which feels like a little escape from the city.
For dining, I love Il Pastaio for classic Italian, and if the weather’s nice, the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge is always a great spot to sit outside. The Grove is my go-to for shopping, and I always love catching a Broadway show at the historic Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. You can’t go wrong with a museum, some of my favorites I’d recommend are The Broad, LACMA, The Getty, Museum of Contemporary Art (all locals call it MOCA), and The Petersen Auto Museum. If I’m in the mood for a movie, LA Live is a fun place to see something on the big screen. And of course, shopping on Rodeo Drive is always a treat.
But my favorite thing to do? Hanging out with family, sitting on the couch, ordering takeout, and watching a good movie. No matter how much there is to do in LA, those simple moments are always the best.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, my family and the incredibly hard-working team at Revelry Event Designers deserve all the recognition. This company wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication, talent, and passion of the people who have helped build it alongside me.
I never had children, so in many ways, my legacy became this business. Over the years, my niece and nephew naturally became part of the company, and watching them help take it to new heights has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was never my plan to pass Revelry on to younger generations, but it happened in the most organic way, and I feel incredibly lucky to have them by my side. Seeing them bring fresh ideas and continue the legacy of creativity and excellence we’ve built together is something I’ll always be grateful for.
