Meet EduArdo Omondi | Artist & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with EduArdo Omondi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi EduArdo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk is a necessary ‘evil’ in life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it is evil, I am simply acknowledging the fact that taking risks sometimes goes downhill and is bad for the individual. I personally can attest to that. In my line of work, as an artist, I do find myself having to make some decisions that would be defined as risky to develop and grow within this industry and they have paid off most of the time. I shall give an example of a show I did in Mexico City in November of 2019, I took my band of 8 with no funds to my name, having never been to Mexico and barely able to speak Spanish; trusting only that we have friends there and will figure everything out. it paid off, we now have a fan base in Mexico City. so yes take risks but do your research prior to taking these risks.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Afro-pop/R&B artist. I’m professional singer, songwriter, performer and specialize in pop music in any genre including reggae. As an African artist I have influences from not only Kenyan music but music from all across Africa thus I have a different approach when I write songs. I have had the great pleasure of meeting incredible musicians and producers at Berklee College of Music and in Los Angeles where I have been able to build my career and produce incredible music. I have my music out on all streaming platforms, under EduArdo Omondi. Have a listen. The journey was (still is) tedious but remarkably rewarding understanding how much I have been able to achieve within a couple of years from doing an artist development program, to a diploma in BTEC Music, specializing in production and performance then pursuing a degree at Berklee College of Music in Professional Music. An uphill battle trying to manage your career as well as school and work to maintain bills but I wouldn’t give it up for anything else knowing how blessed I am to be in a position to share my art and creativity to the rest of the world. Music has gotten me through situations where nothing else could help, it rejuvenates and encourages my being. Music reminds me of resilience and waters my thirst for strength. It has taught me patience and kindness and uplifts my spirit. This journey has taught me to trust the process and do the best that I can and trust that it is enough. I pray you overstand my message. I’m here to spread love and good vibes, your very own fun fairy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a remarkable support system around me with such wholesome individuals who nurture growth and uplift me. Mr Tristan Simone is one of these individuals. A steady pillar in my life and a creative that I have utmost respect and admiration for. Tristan’s entire being speaks on resilience, perseverance and revels in the rewards of risk taking, especially on himself.
