Meet Eduardo Yepis Acosta

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Yepis Acosta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eduardo, why did you pursue a creative career?
To be honest I dunno. It’s difficult to have a simple answer but I genuinely like making people laugh, it’s one of the best feelings. I’ve always wanted to express myself in different ways that a normal 9-5 wouldn’t let me do. It’s also a very scary thing, and I like that. I like not knowing what’s going to happen next, it kinda motivates me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being stubborn is very okay sometimes. I don’t like how scary it is not knowing whether or not what I’m doing will ever be enough, but I’m learning to accept that as part of the process. I’m starting to get a better understanding as to why pursing what I love is so unfairly challenging, but it makes it that much more worth it. I’m glad I’m stubborn because without it, I wouldn’t be pursing this crazy dream millions of people also have. I would much rather fail trying than be secure with a well paying 9-5, wondering what could’ve been.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First things first we’re going go karting, okay? We’re gonna go karting cause I’m very competitive so I’m not losing. Then we’re gonna go get some brunch at Beachwood Café. Very chill spot. then we’re gonna visit a bunch of places in LA that I personally haven’t been to because it’s such a big city, so maybe we could go to some local museums like the Getty or The Oscars.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom honestly. Her work ethic is unbelievable and I strive to have that same mindset every day. Compared to her, I’m actually quite lazy.
