We had the good fortune of connecting with Eleanor Kingston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eleanor, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I was six, I was cast as a princess in the school play, ‘Character Matters’. I remember looking out at my parents in the audience and falling in love with performing; Even though it was my first time performing, I felt like I was being reintroduced to a passion that felt so comfortable. Ever since then, I pursued acting heavily but when I experienced a lot of anxiety in my early teens, I turned to poetry and lyricism. For me, acting has always been a way to explore other states of being and music is where I really express and meet my inner self, my own being.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to approach this question with the understanding that there will always be more challenges, trials, and tribulations we face but that as long as you know your worth and believe in yourself, you can make it through anything. I still have so much more I want to accomplish but I have faith in God and I enjoy the journey despite the roller coaster of emotions that comes with it.
I am most proud of and thankful for my creative team, Buppy., BOIA, & Anthony Palmer, and all of the songs & music video’s that we’ve created in the past year. We have created music that pushes boundaries and represents our authentic selves while also remaining best friends and family. I want the world to know how hard we work but also how we are just 4 young adults who challenged the norms of college, and “real jobs” and left it all on the line for what we love to do. YOU CAN TO!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my mom visits LA, we always go to the coast and drive along PCH from Santa Monica to Malibu because I fell in love with the SoCal coastline and everyone who visits NEEDS to experience it. Specifically, I would go up to Pacific Palisades park where you can overlook the cliffs and beaches. When my brother, George, and I go up there, we always say what we want to accomplish in our lives before we go up there again- it is a must! There are also so many amazing hikes around there and around Laurel Canyon that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to visualize the magic of how large LA is- the views are seriously insane!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my brother, Buppy.., who doubles as my co-writer, and business partner. I would not be where I am today without Buppy.’s knowledge, encouragement, & determination. I didn’t truly find myself in this industry before Buppy. moved to LA with me. Thank you for pushing me to represent my most authentic self and for keeping me grounded through the successes and the triumphs.
