We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Kahn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would say the greatest reason for my success would be my ability to adapt to anything that comes my way. I have found that adapting has been a successful strategy in the growth of my business. I pride myself on providing expert tailored consulting advice and guidance to my clients. This means, adapting to whatever my clients need help with. I’ve crafted the services that my consulting agency provides by asking what my clients are looking for. Creating a business in the midst of the Pandemic has truly been an endeavor. Starting a business in general has its challenges, but starting it when the global economy is shut down and life is chaotic is an even larger feat. It’s the ultimate test and I passed. When the Pandemic began, I thought it was a curse, but a year later I realize that it was the best thing that could have happened to my business.

For example, I launched my business right when the COVID-19 Pandemic was happening. I had several clients that I was working with, helping them with their passion projects. But as the Pandemic rolled on, many of them had to put their career goals on hold and focus on their immediate life. That lead to me losing most of my clients rapidly and at the same time. Many of my clients were going through mental health troubles when all of this was going on. Having a background and a passion for helping people in the mental health sector, I decided that this would be a wonderful opportunity to add a new service to my business. That is how my subsidiary: Elizabeth Kahn Personal Wellness Coaching was created. Without this unfortunate event that I adapted to and created an opportunity out of, I wouldn’t have this amazing service to provide to my clients now. My ideology for my subsidiary is that if your personal life and goals are not doing well, it is difficult for your career goals to thrive. I truly believe that this is a complementary service that will benefit and help my business continue to grow.

By staying humble, diligent, and adaptive, it has allowed me to grow my business in ways that I didn’t even think about initially. It has provided me with all of the tools that I need to be able to move forward with my business. I’m eager to see what is in store for Elizabeth Kahn Consulting LLC in the future, I know it is only good things!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Elizabeth Kahn Consulting LLC is a new non-profit and business consulting agency. I provide a plethora of services that are personalized for each of my clients. My services include: personal wellness coaching; fundraising (grant writing, community outreach, event planning, grassroots lobbying and organizing); business planning (create a business plan, market research, naming a business); content writing (copywriting, editing, citations, cover letters and resumes); graphic design (logo designing, brochures/flyer designing, website designing, and photoshop editing), social media marketing (content creating, engagement, building-up a dedicated following), video animation (video editing, whiteboard animation, slideshow videos, and video intros and outros), and matching brands with causes (helping businesses find partnerships with non-profit organizations through causes that match their mission or interest, public relations).

A unique aspect of my consulting agency is my innovative economic think tank that encompasses my regenerative business model. My consulting agency is the beta to applying effective economic strategies to create a most just economic system. I ongoingly am doing extensive research on various innovative systems such as the circular economy, regenerative capitalism, JIT inventory system and building a business model that can be replicated for other businesses to adopt overtime. The innovative economic think tank is the opportunity for other businesses to build this model into their own business and to see if it can be universally applied across our globalized economy. The goal of this lofty and widespread endeavor is to provide a new economic system that will be better for everyone and everything that exists within it. Through my time obtaining my Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Community Development and minors in Business Management and Environmental Studies, my Master of Environmental Law and Policy, and my Master of Public Policy and a minor in Urban and Regional Planning – I used my time in higher education to gain a solid research background and credibility to move forward with implementing this into my new business and beyond.

Everything about the creation of my business has been a growing, learning, and humbling experience. I would say that I agree with the saying, “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey” because I am riding this wave and enjoying every moment of it. From adapting to the times, to just growing my business, it is so much fun! I love having the ability to be my own boss and most importantly, to create the rules and the way I buildup my business. It is the most freeing and rewarding experience I have had in my life thus far.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have now lived in Los Angeles for around four years. It took me a really long time to warm up to this city – I still am, but being more acclimated now, I have found what makes LA a special place! I live in Atwater Village, a comfortable neighborhood in Los Angeles. There are so many fun shops and places that are walking distance from my place. I have many friends and family visit me in LA often, so I will use some places that I have taken guests in the past. First, we would get excellent burgers and beer at The Morrison. It’s a gastropub that has amazing food. I love going to The Juice! It’s located in Atwater Village and it’s a cute little juice bar right in my neighborhood. They have pre-made organic juices that are delicious! They have a variety of different combinations— you can’t go wrong. I would highly recommend going there after a hike around Griffith or on a hot day!

After we get some food we can go for a hike, jog, or stroll around Griffith Park as it is only a couple minutes away. Taking the hike up to the Hollywood Sign is a lot of fun (but make sure to go to the bathroom beforehand and bring sunscreen and a hat). The next day we would probably pamper ourselves and be the girly girls that we are by getting facials and hot stone massages from Dtox Day Spa that is right across from where I live. Then after we look fresh and gorgeous we would get dolled up to go to The Americana at Brand where we can do sophisticated shopping and dining. Of course, having a car is necessary in Los Angeles and I have one (for the first six months living here I used Uber and Lyft), but having a car opens up so many possibilities. So, honestly, I would just take my bestie around Los Angeles and discover new places that I haven’t even been to yet. I love going on adventures, so I couldn’t think of anything more fun to do than that!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m truly grateful for my support system in my life, this includes my family, friends, and mentors. Their level of support and love that they constantly shower me in is amazing. They give me the energy and the ability to be successful in this world. Without them, achieving my goals would be a lot more challenging. They are my biggest cheerleaders and they remind me each and every day that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I love them all and they truly deserve to be recognized as I continue to grow Elizabeth Kahn Consulting LLC and all of my other endeavors that I pursue in my life as well.
