Meet EMAYLA | Singer, songwriter, artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with EMAYLA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi EMAYLA, why did you pursue a creative career?
I breathe art. All I am and all I do is art, whether it’s music, drawing, painting or dance, I express myself and my feelings through my art, so it’s inevitable to be an artist and do what I love for a living. My art, career and talent, all in one, is my biggest blessing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It definitely takes a lot of courage and strength to move to a new country, very young, to pursue your music career and follow your dream. I moved here completely by myself many years ago, but that took courage and strength. At the beginning it wasn’t that easy emotionally, because, even though I love Los Angeles, the very first few months I was still missing Italy and my family, so that was a challenge and it is a challenge still now when I miss my family and friends in Italy, but I really love the United States and Los Angeles, so I made new friends here and I’m happy.
So sometimes it’s not easy, but I feel I have so much here and that gives me the strength to keep being strong and powerful. I love it here and I love that I get to do music every day and make a living out of it, which it’s not a common thing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite spots in the city for me are definitely Beverly Hills, Downtown South Park, Glendale, Malibu and Santa Monica. Best coffee shop in the city to me is definitely Caffe Luxxe on the Westside and they have different locations.
Their iced caramel coffee is really the best and they also have amazing quiche!
If I friend visited LA, I would definitely take them there and to those locations in LA I mentioned previously.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my family deserves the biggest recognition in my story! My parents started to take me to music classes when I was only 3 years old and they encouraged me to move from Italy to America to achieve my goals and follow my dreams.
They helped me in any way possible and I couldn’t be more thankful for them!
