We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Casas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before I knew what an esthetician ACTUALLY was, I thought it was just someone who massaged your face and called it a day. After going through school, receiving my license and starting my business…it showed me that there was SO much more than what I thought this was career was. I realized the common misconceptions of the esthetician world was lack of intent and passion. So upon starting my business, I wanted to not only use this as an opportunity to help people feel better in their skin through my services…but to also make connections and change lives along the way by changing beauty standards and offering education/insight about this industry when I can. I wanted my esthetician business to be *THE* place people can visit to be pampered, while also offering them a safe space.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a solo esthetician who offers facials, body waxing, deluxe brow services, tooth gems and now trainings to fellow estheticians. I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to create a safe, welcoming environment while also always giving the people what they want! I’m VERY tedious about my craft and always do my best to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. Seeing how many people return, confide in me, obsess over their results and welcome me into their lives is what makes me the happiest and I couldn’t be any prouder. I started my journey straight out of high school and was one of the youngest students in my beauty school, I then received my esthetician license a few months after. I knew what I wanted to pursue at an early age and went for it. Due to Covid and the pandemic, there was some set backs and affected the way I wish I could have jump started my business, but everything happens for a reason. My support system, amazing clients and platform/audience are truly the reason why I’m here today. I received my license about 1-2 weeks before the pandemic, so I wasn’t able to have the traditional experience most beginner estheticians get to have. All I could do was perfect my craft and prepare myself for my future plans when life could finally go back to normal. But less than a year in, I was high in demand for bookings and being seen as a role model for fellow beauty providers! All because social media and tik tok gave me the spotlight I needed to really showcase my talent and potential. I always tell everyone I’m not a regular esthetician, I’m THE coolest esthetician you could ever meet!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Im a latina who was born and raised in LA, that alone is enough for me to always have something in my back pocket. I’m 23 years old and I’m still discovering new parts of the city and memories to make. A staple for me will always be downtown. Whether it’s exploring local eateries or visiting viral food places, the possibilities are endless and you’ll never starve here. ✨The✨ iconic LA experience for me will always be waking up early to shop at the LA fashion district and spend HOURS at the Santee Alley, it was my favorite thing to do with my family as a child. Visiting Little Tokyo to hunt for Sonny Angels and yummy foods is a current obsession of mine! I think the most fun experience is the amount of random events you can find in LA. I love to listen to small local alternative/rock bands and see them play in small, lowkey venues in LA!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It would for sure have to be my family and my boyfriend for being so supportive and helping build the foundation EUPHORICSKN needed. They’re for sure the ones who really helped me jumpstart this whole journey. I consider them the unofficial members of my team since I’m always consulting them with my new business plans and constantly sharing my growth with them. However, if I truly had to give the ultimate shoutout…it would be my clients. If it wasn’t for their trust and support, my business wouldn’t be in the path it’s heading now and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for them. I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of my supporters and I do my best to tell them that everyday!
