Meet Emily June Heisley | Personal Development Consultant & Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily June Heisley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily June, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been a service person. My parents owned and operated their own cleaning business for over 40years before they retired and I saw how their work added value to their clients lives. I knew whatever I did, however, I did it, I wanted my work to add value to my clients lives as well. Besides growing up cleaning for my family’s business, I also worked over 7 years in corporate. While I loved offering clear and efficient service to my clients, and I enjoyed working with my coworkers, upper management did not have much flexibility or appreciation for my unique way of working. I realized that if I was going to do my best work I would have to create my own business where I could directly positively impact those I work with. So then I knew I needed to get training, not only in the modalities I employ in my work but also in running a business. Luckily I’m a voracious learner so my pursuit of education has never ended.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I offer personal development consulting which is informed by my own life experience of making the most of life’s cycles and all the education I’ve received along the way. I’m a certified life coach and community counselor, with an undergrad in psych, and I’m currently working on my Master’s degree to keep growing and expanding my skill set. During an existential crisis in my early twenties, I adopted the working motto of “Inquire Within”, which I use daily and encourage others to do the same.
What makes my work unique is really listening to where the person is at and helping them tune into their intuitive way of being. I firmly believe we all have a GPS system inside of us that may need some calibration to get back to great working order.
I blend my professional background with the lived experience of starting over, building resilience, and navigating self-discovery. I’ve been through my own process of reinvention, more than once, so I know firsthand how challenging it can be to face uncertainty and make meaningful changes. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others find their footing and tune into their core truth. I listen to where people are on their journey and offer resources, insights, and practices that empower them to live their most fun and fulfilled life.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but the challenges shape me in ways I’m so grateful for. Building a purpose-driven business takes persistence, a lot of self-reflection, and learning to trust my own authority. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is being honest about our own strengths and weaknesses and learning how to work beneficially with both.
I’m especially proud of how my work honors the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. I believe true fulfillment comes from integrating all parts of ourselves, and I’ve seen how transformative that approach can be. What excites me the most is the ripple effect this work creates. When someone connects with their intuitive way of being, it inspires the people around them to do the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a coffee freak, so I would have to begin with a new coffee shop every day. Tortoni coffee in Sherman Oaks is one of my all-time faves. I live in The Valley and go hard for the 818 so definitely would need to cruise around to all the locally owned small businesses in the strip malls. From The Valley to LA there’s so many gems where you can get some great souvenirs to take home and make some awesome connections like MUMUMansion on Pico, and FanGirl Coffee in WeHo. I love the cheesy touristy spots like Universal City Walk as well as the local hot spots like Melrose Trading Post. We have awesome venues to see shows like the Smell, 1720 warehouse, the Greek. Then probably checking out our amazing museums like the Hammer and the MocaGeffin. Basically put on your cute ‘fits and grab your tapcard cuz we’re seeing the best of LA!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to shout all the friends who have supported me and the work I do and everyone who referred my services to someone they thought would benefit. I would also like to shout out Women’s Economic Ventures and my teacher Jeff Alkazian, that organization empowered and supported me from the beginning. I always thank everyone who books a personal development session or comes to one of my workshops. Showing up to work on yourself is no small task, but the work you do on yourself ripples out and improves the whole world around you.
