We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Seo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emma, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
It seems that more and more customers want Korean and Japanese style lash lifts. I want to fulfill their desires by teaching many others my own lash method. I hope that it will not only improve other people’s livelihood but also spreading this beautiful method properly just as I had learned from my teacher.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There are not many places that only specialize in eyelash perms. America seems to be doing a lot of extensions than lash lift. It wasn’t easy to make an American guest base when I first came to America. That slowly started to change as the people who become regulars would introduce their acquaintances to me. From this growing base customers would also want lessons as well. My dream is for my style to spread through the states.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend from South Korea visits for a week, I think I would choose a theme before traveling. I would choose Southern California style dining at delicious and unique restaurants. Taking pictures is also important so choosing pretty places is a must. For example, since I live in LA, I think it would be nice to wine taste at Miramonte Winery, have dinner on the terrace and take memorable pictures. After I would like to go to Hawaii because the flight from America to Hawaii is cheap. Visiting Maui or Kauai would be ideal as it is less crowded than Oahu Island while enjoying food and chatting at an accommodation overlooking the beach.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give particular credit to Surla Kim, the head tattooist of Surla Ink, Co. Surla is the person who created a stable place for me to prosper in America. I’m so grateful that she provided fair conditions for working without risk to me and that I was able to work with her without working alone. I want to continue working together with Surla in the future because there is a synergy that would not be there if we worked alone.
