We had the good fortune of connecting with Emme Lentino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emme, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

I really resonate with this message so much. I believe in the spirit of gratitude and the power of a positive mindset when setting goals for myself. A thankful heart is a happy heart and the place I try to always come back to, no matter what.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Thanks so much for taking time to chat with me today, really appreciate it… For the last several years I have worked as a recording artist, voice actor, songwriter, actress and radio personality. I am passionate about the performing arts and the healing power it provides. I love creating projects that uplift the soul and ignite and encourage the spirit. My journey to becoming a professional started as a little kid in TV Commercials and theatrical productions. I have stayed active in acting, music, dance, comedy and creative writing through out my life. My path has not been easy. I have faced many personal challenges such as: being homeless and living in my car, losing loved ones to suicide, losing my husband to cancer ( I was raising our little girls age 4 and under at the time). These types of challenges have shaped my belief that all humans can overcome hard times and we can do so with grace, faith, love, gratitude and hope. I have learned many lessons along the way:
Lesson 1: A thankful heart is truly a happy heart. A spirit of gratitude is how I choose to start every day.
Lesson 2: Help others in need. If I am facing a hard time personally.. I have found that helping someone else keeps the focus off of me! It is amazing how much of a difference an act of kindness can make. It totally changes the atmosphere.
Lesson 3: Self-care is essential to maintaining my mental health. Even when life throws curve balls( and believe me it often does!). I have learned to have quiet time, reflect and make sure I keep my moral compass in check. This has allowed me to be certain of my own boundaries so I only say “yes” to projects and situations that fit within that sphere.
Lesson 4: Keep the light within me shining bright so I can help encourage others. I keep this light on with the help of :faith, family, friends, laughter, dance, nature, music, yoga/mediation and love all around me.

My brand:
I want the world to know they are loved just as they are. That we encounter many seasons in this life and we can face each one with courage and grace. It is all there deep within us. We just have to dig deep.

My hope for the world:
I truly hope every person feels seen, heard, understood and respected and encouraged.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

New Zealand is full of amazing spots! So I have thought of just a few but there is so much more! I would start in the North Island of New Zealand. In an area called the North Shore.
I would start our trip by taking them to an early morning 6am Yoga session at ‘Golden Yogi’
Then for a nice stroll to the beach just down the road.
Coffee break/snack at the most adorable little spot up the road from the beach called ‘Cafe Presso’
Then a walk and some kayaking on Lake Pupuke (Takapuna, Auckland).
Brekky or an early lunch at Mimosa Cafe- a super cool vegan friendly place with delicious fresh food, goodies
For the evening : A nice beverage/snack and conversation at ‘Taylors on Hurstmere’ owned by the wonderful Stephen Taylor. Then a show at Bruce Mason Theatre(just next door!).

Later in the week: I would make sure to drive up north towards Whangarei and show them all the amazing hiking spots and stunning beaches. There is an amazing Hihiaua Cultural Centre. It’s a beautiful celebration of the Māori customs, cultural practices and beliefs of the indigenous people of New Zealand.

Drive them down south and stop into the City of Sails, Auckland for a visit to the many museums, great restaurants and the cool city life of music and theatre. Further south I would drive them to see the exquisite Hamiliton Gardens. Hamilton Gardens is a public garden park that spans 54-hectare. Based on the banks of the Waikato River. It includes enclosed gardens, open lawns, a lake, a nursery,
A stop in a cute town called Cambridge and a delicious Vietnamese lunch at ‘Hanoi boy’

Time permitting, we would head to the South Island to see the amazing Queenstown and also Wanaka. There is something for everyone to enjoy. It is a true adventure place; hiking, biking, skiing(in the winter months) amazing restaurants, wineries and lovely people too.

I would finish the South Island trip with a soak at Onsen Pools. With their beautiful cedar hot tubs with breathtaking views and amazing relaxation vibes. It is the place you can unwind after a huge week of adventures.

Upon heading back to the Auckland I would take them on some day trips to see the gorgeous Waiheke Island(is the second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand.) and Rangitoto Island( a volcanic island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand).
