We had the good fortune of connecting with Eva Nomikou and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eva, how do you think about risk?
Risk, to me, is the cornerstone of growth and progress, both personally and professionally. It’s the catalyst for innovation and the doorway to new opportunities. Without risk, there’s no evolution. Throughout my life and career, I try to see risks as steps towards my aspirations instead of obstacle. Whether it was moving from Greece to pursue my passion for music or collaborating with new artists, every risk I’ve taken has propelled me forward, shaping my journey and expanding my horizons. Even if I stumble along the way, I’ve learned to embrace failure as a lesson rather than a setback, understanding that it’s often through setbacks that we uncover our greatest strengths and refine our craft.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Every person is unique in their own way and I believe that art is a reflection of one’s journey, experiences, and emotions. What sets me apart from others, I think is the blend of influences -ranging from my Greek heritage to my exposure to various musical genres and styles- alongside the different vocal studies I’ve had, which have made it easy for me to adapt according to the requirements of a song, or job. In addition to that, I have a beautiful obsession with harmonies so that usually marks out my work as well. My journey so far has been filled with moments of doubt, rejection, and some setbacks. However, each challenge has been an opportunity for growth and learning and through those I’ve been fortunate enough to meet the right people to collaborate with- resonating, sharing the same passions and as a result making something heartfelt and authentic on stage or in the studio.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d definitely take them to CVS, it’s a great experience since we don’t have stores like that in Greece, hahah. But apart from that:
A drive through N Beverly Glen Blvd during the day,

Somewhere in Malibu for sunset

and Black Rabbit Rose for some live music and drinks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much of my journey as a creative to the unwavering support and encouragement of my family, my brother ,my parents who raised us in a house filled with music and dance and instilled in me a love for music from a young age, they always believed in my dreams. My sister, who has been my musical partner and confidante throughout the years, as well as my bandmates in our old band in Greece (The Cher’s Wet Dream Collective) who helped me understand music, instruments and studios. I’d also like to dedicate a shoutout to Themis Marsellou, a Greek musical theatre director whose guidance and mentorship got me into musical theatre and helped me progress, understand my voice and believe in myself so much.
