We had the good fortune of connecting with Fabiola Aquino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fabiola, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity.

Though we are always on a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement, we only achieve our true potential when we unapologetically root our thoughts and actions in the truest version of ourselves. To me success is a synonym purpose, and we cannot live in purpose if we are living an unauthentic life. If we live in purpose, we live in happiness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of the most exciting aspects of being an actor is the constant creativity. As an actor, one of my jobs is to find myself, or a part of myself, in the characters I play. This requires a mix of qualitative and technical training, as well as introspective/inner work; naturally, it is not an easy task. But how cool is it to create a life, and then get to live it? Challenges will always be present, but if we are able to find the joy in the hard moments, it becomes a journey to be our best selves.

Acting has taught me to be truly present, not just in a scene but in life. I am guilty of living on “auto pilot” at times, and am grateful to be learning to find the beauty of every moment.

I want the world to know that art is truly healing; if you find an art form that sparks interest in you, go try it out! You will be surprised at all the lessons that are waiting for you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh – the perfect question for a Virgo! I will be brief, while restraining myself from using bullet points and time stamps.

I would definitely want to take them to see some beautiful views, either at Mullholand Drive or Point Dume. I’d also love to have a beach day at Will Rogers and then grab food at Malibu Farms! Another day, we’d head to a comedy show at the Improv or The Comedy Store, followed by drinks at a rooftop bar to enjoy night time views. We will also have to go to La Descarga for some dancing! For food we would definitely hit Portos, Alfred’s and Sugarfish. If it is their first time in LA, we’d have to do some classics: Runyon Canyon, Griffith Park, and Warner Bros. Studio Tour.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am blessed to have the best support system: my family and friends. My parents have been my biggest cheerleaders while my friends are the kindest companions.

I am also grateful I grew up able to focus on school. I had amazing teachers that saw the creative potential in me and encouraged me to explore this part of myself. This is why I am such a big advocate for fair education accessibility; every person has a right to education whether inside or outside of a traditional classroom. Being willing to learn and shift our perspectives is pivotal to evolving and becoming the best version of ourselves.
