We had the good fortune of connecting with Fansu Njie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fansu, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Discipline in day-to-day life, a good mindset, healthy food, quality sleep, and effective supplements.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a filmmaker, there are massive challenges. One thing is to learn your limitations when making any film project, big or small. The more restrictions you have, the more creative you become. For example, if you only have a camera, lens, and simple light equipment, you are forced to think outside the box. If you have everything from the beginning, you have a different challenge, and you then become more comfortable and less risk-taking.

People often talk about how they will change, but it is only when the pain in life becomes too great that you can change. My challenges in life have pushed me into the person I am today, and it has definitely made me a better filmmaker.

What I love about the film industry is that you can find all the art forms there. Anyone can join a project, even if it is only for one occasion. Just remember to stay focused and embrace the limitations because those limitations will increase your creativity – if you choose a creative path in life.

Finally, I want to add a list of 10 things to improve your day-to-day life whether you are a filmmaker or not:
1. Walk at least 10k steps every day (if you can´t walk daily, use a treadmill or similar)
2. Get a good amount of sleep.
3. Muscle-strengthening activities at least 3 times a week (the older you are the more important it is)
4. Take high-quality supplements (vitamin D, probiotics, magnesium, NMN, etc)
5. Use a standing desk. The first weeks are as hard as when you begin at a gym. Have patience, and you’ll finally manage to stand for an entire day without pain.
6. Eat healthy food and avoid sugar.
7. Don’t eat for more than 12h a day (time-restricted)
8. Take cold showers every day. Aim for 2min but take it slow.
9. Do breathing exercises every day (Wim Hof or similar) to keep you alert and calm.
10. When motivation fails, remember that discipline backs you up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To eat crayfish here in Gothenburg is a must for anyone visiting.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother – who tragically passed away in 2016. She taught me never to give up. “If you never give up, you never lose”
