Meet Federica Levrero | Fashion, Art & Design Education Advisor and Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Federica Levrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Federica, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The primary habit that has contributed to become the person I am is a daily habit. I believe that having a daily routine is crucial for developing discipline and growth mindsets. Personally, I practice transcendental meditation every single day and actively work on incorporating or modifying habits to enhance my flexibility in acquiring new ones and adjusting those that don’t resonate with me.
A daily habit, ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour, is something that can be practiced consistently regardless one´s location or external conditions. It is non-negotiable; you simply commit to doing it. This can include activities such as writing, taking pictures, reading, drawing, and so on.
The last school to join the FAD Connection Community is The Mystery School and it is all about creative process and creative minds.

What should our readers know about your business?
I take pride in the reviews we’ve received in 2023, which highlight the transformative impact that studying abroad in creative disciplines can have on the lives of young creatives. In my opinion, these young individuals are the ones we should look to, as they have the potential to shape the course of the world. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet a Uruguayan student who is completing her final year of a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography at the Paris College of Arts, one of the universities represented by FAD Connection. Her journey, starting from a small country like Uruguay, moving to New York to study Film at the New York Film Academy, and then pursuing photography in Paris, has been both challenging and rewarding. We strongly believe in the power of young individuals and the transformative effects of creative education. We aim to help individuals cultivate creative mindsets that can shape their lives positively. The pictures I have shared in this interview are from Istituto Marangoni Alumni, with whom I have been collaborating since 2010, guiding students from around the world to find courses that match their interests and helping them prepare application documents such as portfolios and personal statements.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This question is crucial in understanding the mission and purpose behind FAD Connection, a global platform for creative mentorship and education. I agree with the significance of mentors, but when I was building my identity and my business, I often felt alone. While everyone talked about the importance of mentors, I struggled to find someone who shared my mindset and aligned with the specific business I was developing. It’s relatively easier to find mentors when we have a clear idea of what we want to achieve and when our self-esteem is high. However, between the ages of 17 and 27, finding a mentor who can guide us within our chosen vocation can be quite challenging. Looking back, I now see that my parents, my three kids, and my husband have all been mentors in my life, and I’ve learned valuable lessons from each of them. But during my formative years, I was a rebellious individual who wanted to discover everything on my own. I wished I had found a mentor in the creative field who could have guided and taught me the tools I now utilize to focus, center myself, and unleash my creativity. These experiences and desires laid the foundations for the establishment of FAD Connection.
