Meet Filippe Baruc: tattoo artist and businessman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Filippe Baruc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Filippe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It wasn’t easy. I worked from 13 to 21 years old, but always with the dream of being my own boss and having the freedom to test my own ideas. I am from a humble family and without any knowledge of business, and whenever I said I was going to have my own business they laughed and made fun of it as if it were just a dream and that I could not get. I think the biggest motivation was to show that yes I can and if I can anyone with willpower, focus and determination can also.

What should our readers know about your business?
Well, I had different types of business before these and I’ve been doing business for 9 years, but currently I have 2 tattoo shops the name is Baruc Tattoo and they are new, one will turn 2 in July this year located in Beverly Hills and the other it was opened at the end of 2020 in santa monica, but we only started operating in February 2021 because of the pandemic. What sets us apart from other tattoo shops I believe is our quality of work and customer service, we always give the best to make them feel very comfortable and open to give their opinions in addition to serving in 3 languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese. It certainly wasn’t easy to get here. It was a lot of hard work making mistakes learning from mistakes and we continue to work hard every day, because we want to grow more and more. We all have challenges and problems, I believe that the secret was to have looked for solutions to solve the challenges and problems instead of complaining. Without a doubt what I learned the most along the way was, learn from mistakes. Yes, we will always make mistakes along the way, this is normal. We just have to learn from mistakes, as this is part of the evolution both professionally and personally, this is experience. what i want the world to know about me and my brand is that we are here without having passed over anyone, we left below, we are super honest, we have principles, we love our customers, our work and we respect everyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take you to see the most famous tourist spots like Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood, and it would also take you to know more beaches and hiking trails in the mountains. About the Restaurants and Bars I would take in several but there is one that I like very much is located in Long beach and is called Balast poit there is very good. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I try to say that everything I have and the person I have become today is thanks to Jesus Christ and his teachings. And my family, of course, is not a perfect family, but I know that they love me and wish me well. The book that most helped me without a doubt was the Bible, it helps you to understand people in a human way and that for an entrepreneur and for anyone is certainly a key.
