Meet Filippo Peisino | Video Maker and Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Filippo Peisino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Filippo, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Probably dropping out of film school. I hate to make it a cliche of the artist dropping out of college to pursue his dream, but I really think it just wasn’t for me. I butted heads with my dad especially on this decision. I bartended fulltime and was doing photoshoots and shooting videos almost daily, while going to school fulltime as well. It was really taking it’s toll on me, and I felt like I could improve so much more by just being “in the field” more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I remember in highschool I got really into fashion. It was my way of growing more confident as a human. I wanted to be a fashion blogger and started a Youtube channel. I bought my first camera, a Canon 1200D for 150 euro. It was a lot for me at the time. I remember just going out with my friends and taking random photos and videos. I soon found out I prefer being behind the camera. Straight out of highschool my first job was as a Content Creator for this ski resort called Prato Nevoso. That changed my life. It made me realize that I could actually get paid for this. There have been some bumps along the road. The important thing is to take a deep breath in, blast some music and just power through. Look at the progress you’ve made.
Right now my main priority as a Creative is to help people bring their visions to life through video and photos.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we’re talking LA I’m a beach kid. I used to live in Venice. Cruise around the boardwalk and grab some tacos at Teddy’s. Maybe go out all the way to Malibu for sunset. After that mandatory stop in Sawtelle for some udon at Marugame for dinner!
You also just have to go do the mandatory touristy stuff like griffith and the hollywood sign. Driving through downtown with your windows down and music blairing after darkis also a must.
Here in Seattle we’re going hiking! Right outside of the city is the best part of Seattle

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really owe it all to my friend, and amazing Seattle artist All Day Trey. We met while I was in a bit of a creative rut. I used to work in a post production house in Hollywood. After three long months of twelve hour days and not getting payed I decided I needed a break from photography and videomaking. I decided to move from LA to the PNW. Me and Trey used to bartend together. He needed a videomaker and after 6 long months of not picking up a camera I really wanted to shoot something. Meeting him got me back into what I love doing. Since the I’ve been working with local restaurants and artist, curating their “image”.
