We had the good fortune of connecting with Folasade and Terence Omogun and Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Folasade and Terence, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Our desire to change the status quo of the sports and entertainment agency business model has really contributed to our growth and success. Early on, we focused on building relationships with trusted advisors and learning from those who were already in the business. From those conversations, we gathered that to stand out and really build a business that provides our clients with high quality services, we needed to take a holistic approach to representation. This meant asking ourselves some very important questions such as, what else do athletes and artists need aside from someone to negotiate high level contracts for them? How else can we help impact the lives of our clients in a meaningful way? How and when do we scale? What important relationships do we need to build? We spent a lot of time dissecting our business model and answering those tough questions.
Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
We are most proud of our clients. Our clients believe in our mission and our goal to scale their brands and to consistently align them with unique career opportunities.
We are also very proud of our ability to truthfully assess what is working and what isn’t working and then reinvent based on that assessment. As a former college athlete (Folasade) and a former musician & artist (Terence), we understand the importance and power of consistently evaluating our performance and doing what it takes to grow and advance to the next level. Understanding this, we began creating strategic partnerships with tech companies and companies that have positioned their brands to grow with the changing landscape of the industry. We are always thinking about ways to help our clients monetize their brands and collaborate with brands that will help them grow and scale their own brands.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we’re in D.C., we are taking them to Ben’s Chili Bowl for a glizzy. After that, we’d take them to a D.C. United game, followed by a night out with GoGo music.
If we’re in LA, we are taking them to Mr. Chow followed by an LA Lakers game.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Terence: I dedicate my shoutout to my mother and father. Words can never express my gratitude for everything you two have done for me. Thank you both for your courage, trust, and protection. Special shoutout to my older brother, you introduced me to the love of my life (music), and I will forever be grateful.
Folasade: My husband, for his unwavering support and confidence in my pursuits; my mentors, colleagues, and friends for always rooting for me and providing me with invaluable insight and honest feedback, and without a doubt, all of my former coaches who believed in me and still cheer for me until this day, especially my high school basketball coach, Coach Brown who I speak with regularly. But, most importantly, God for blessing me with the opportunity to do what I love: help athletes live out their dreams.
