We had the good fortune of connecting with Fonz Tramontano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fonz, what do you attribute your success to?
As an independent producer of synth based retro dance music I believe that being a musician who has played in live bands for many years has helped me enormously. I have worked in many genres of music and this has assisted with my song writing and my ability to know how popular music is constructed.
My ability to work collaboratively with different female artists from across the globe has been pivotal in creating my brand. Knowing how to communicate, how to listen and how to create remotely has been really important.
The success of my brand is based on consistence. I release quality tracks every month on the first Friday of the month, with different female vocalists each month. Ensuring that the song is memorable and catchy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create and produce music from my studio (Mileven Studio) in Sheffield UK. I have worked as a live musician for many years, however I only commenced my music production in 2018. Since then I have released 82 tracks, including 4 albums, 1 EP and monthly single releases since April 2020.
Initially it was very daunting having no fans, no community to support me however the freedom to create was liberating. I knew what I liked and what I wanted to create. I bought the best equipment that I could afford, built my studio and just plowed all my energy and time into music.
Once I found the music community on Twitter I never looked back. I now have just under 18,000 followers on Twitter and over 1000 followers on Spotify. I have my own Spotify editorial “This is Fonz Tramontano” playlist and I have won 5 Clouzine International music awards.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sheffield is full of great entertainment live venues and restaurants, far too many to mention, they would be spoilt for choice!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
