We had the good fortune of connecting with Fortune and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fortune, what role has risk played in your life or career?
This is a great question. Risk plays a big role in all of our everyday lives, on a micro and macro scale. Some risks are blind, and some are calculated. Some reap benefits and some fail. But even when I’ve failed in risks, I take it as a lesson so my next risk will be more calculated. Before I lived in California I was working everyday doubles in florida living day by day. Now, not telling anyone to pack up and move across the country but that was definitely the best risk I took so far in my life. It helped my music career flourish and be able to network in the way I wasnt able to where i was at.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would like to say I make very timeless music and not whats trending. Alot of the music I drop today, ive recording 3,4 sometimes 5 years ago and it still stands the test of times and not just what was popping during that year. Im excited for me trying to go back to my roots of how it all started and just make music for fun again. Yeah the business side is super important maybe more important than the music in this industry ironically, but when you have fun whilst doing it and make sure you invest in yourself in multiple angles, whats meant for you will come in whatever lane that you in. And thats kind of how I got to where I am today with my music. Having fun and trying to bring ideas to life. Thats all it is. I think some of my biggest challenges is outsourcing things, sometimes you cant find exactly what your looking for when your early in your career as far as visuals and things of the latter. Just have fun, be you, and dont let anyone take that away from you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It depends on what mood we on and what friend coming in town haha. So if its one of my partners from out of town were for sure hitting the strip club. Preferably, dollhouse of ones of those. If its one of my lady friends im going to take her to some of my favorite food spots in LA. Seafood, Watergrill in downtown. If its tacos, I love the mom and pop Birria spots. Steak, H&H or STK will always get my business. I love going to the beach and catching the vibes to be honest. i love the sunset and seeing mountains.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Joseph Eldridge. Owner of Imperfection Visuals and clothing. Without joe alot of my early music career buzz wouldnt have happened. Everyday we use to lock our selfs in my room, me, him, and Dre and just make music. This was heavy soundcloud era so it was just really fun making rough songs and just dropping it just because we felt like it. No rollout plan, no budget, no streaming services we just dropped it consistently. Joe always told me invest in myself no matter what it is, its going to come back. Earlier on I didnt totally understand what he meant. But investing in yourself doesnt just mean money, it means going out everyday and putting in time towards your craft.
