We had the good fortune of connecting with Fox Garza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fox, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
Two books that have really impacted my life are The Giver by Lois Lowry and Just Kids by Patti Smith. I read The Giver in highschool and it impacted the way I thought about the world  and life in general, eye opening, read it. Life isn’t perfect, there will always be good and bad and if everything and everyone was the same and only felt one side of the spectrum it never ends well. We need all of life to enjoy it and to be able to be GRATEFUL. Just Kids is inspiring and got my creative juices flowing. It brought me back to a time  in history that I always wanted to experience as a young adult, but I was born in the wrong era. “No pure good, no pure evil, only purity” this quote by Patti Smith means to me that no one is perfect.  We all need to be the BEST people we can be. Be loving, use your brain to do good, don’t be a follower, be a leader.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
DON’T THROW YOUR OLD JEANS AWAY QUITE YET…. Denim is one of the few materials that actually gets better with age. Super soft, stained, ripped, and the most amazing wash and wear patterns that can all help to tell a story about where the garment’s been. These characteristics make denim a PERFECT material to reuse and recycle into unique new pieces. We make: Custom Pillows, Motorcycle Blankets, Ponchos, Purses, Dog Beds, Rugs, Bed Blankets and much more !!! We also repair holes in denim, tailor it to fit, can sew shirts or blankets to jackets, and offer a wide variety of customization to make a piece for you that’s a true one of kind every time. Being a part of the fashion industry you really think about the impact that it has on the world. The best part is making people feel good in what they clothe themselves in. The worst is the amount of pollution and waste it contributes to our environment. Working as a denim designer for over 15 years I saw first hand all the waste and wanted to make a difference by recycling it. That’s how the idea sparked as well as meeting my soulmate who loved vintage and the idea of recycling goods as well. We recycle, reuse and repair DENIM and in that we hope to change people’s minds the next time they want to throw out their denim!

Shout out to my husband and soulmate for always pushing me to be my best self! He loves contributing to our community and helping our planet. He has almost surpassed me in the love of DENIM and his support in making my dream a reality is not only appreciated but I couldn’t have done it without him. He is my true partner in EVERYTHING and FOXHOLE wouldn’t be foxhole without him.
