We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesco and Mario and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesco & Mario, what do you attribute your success to?
The passion and commitment that we put into our craft, we roast coffee almost daily to insure freshness and we work 7 days at week to grow our business. We want to educate and spread the concept of great coffee and try to bring more people to support small roasters rather then huge burnt coffee corporations. We want people to taste chocolate, nuts, fruits, flowers in every sip and it’s just the natural aromatic bouquet of the artisanal coffee, without tricks or artificial aromas. Good coffee is like good wine and we are the winemakers that wants to deliver you a fantastic experience, not just the boost of energy to wake up in the morning. Coffee is more then that 🙂

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We started just to roast coffee for some friends and family. At the beginning we weren’t even charging for it. We both had full time jobs (Barista and Chef ) and we wanted to enjoy good coffee anytime anywhere so we said why not making our own?

We worked really hard to find the space and the coffee suppliers to direct trade from the farmers and really make sure the people who works hard in the field get paid what they deserve. Next thing you know everyone started loving our coffee and kept ordering more and more, then one day they asked us to make some flavored syrups for a special event close to San Diego and that’s when our line of artisanal natural syrups was born .

Today we are a coffee and syrups company and we distribute and deliver to restaurants, coffee shops and mini markets and also online retail for people that wants to enjoy it at home.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to :

Santa Monica Carnival park
Getty museum
Malibu beach
Pasta Sisters for lunch
In&out Burgers
Tartine Bakery for breakfast
Madeo Restaurant for dinner
The Garage for drinks
Westfield Century City mall shopping
Palos Verdes for sunset
Korea town for some Korean BBQ
Morning Hike over the hollywood hills

Alright, so let’s jump right in! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there a person, group, organization, book, etc. that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
“Outliers” by Malcom Gladwell is the book that we would like to dedicate our shoutout to.

We are a small coffee roaster and we are based in LA, we decided together (Francesco And Mario) to start this adventure after we noticed that there was a lot of speculation and mercenary attitude behind the coffee market. We wanted to give people great coffee without focusing too much on revenue but quality
