We had the good fortune of connecting with Francisco Lima and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francisco, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I believe that Jiu-Jitsu is a magnificent tool for making people better in different areas of their lives. My goal is to provide the best jiu-jitsu class so all my students can learn Discipline, Confidence, Ability to work in a group, develop strong Mental Health, Coordination and Body Awareness, Physical Preparation, Ability to deal with difficult situations, Self-defense, Parents/Child Bond. Through these steps I can have a huge impact on my school, my community and consequently throughout the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a Jiu-Jitsu school named RYSK Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I love seeing how far we’ve come in 2 years. What I do is provide the best class to my students, guaranteeing them safety, understanding and execution. No matter each class I am teaching or how many students are attending , I am committing to show my students enthusiasm and dedication to them. That’s what makes me different from others. My Jiu-Jitsu school is growing daily, I believe that in a few more years I will be one of the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu schools in Orange County, and be recognized throughout Los Angeles. I’m on the rise. Having a jiujitsu school It wasn’t easy task. Running a business is something really challenging and one of my biggest challenge was to put an end to student turnover. I didn’t know it was going to be something so important to decide the future of the business. To stop turnover, I needed to create strategies to provide more leads and these are going to be new long-term students. The lesson I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is: the owner is the last to get paid and the first to be ready to work. I want the world to know that I had nothing – I am coming from a poor family with no benefits or privileges and I wanted to change my destiny by being someone small doing big things capable of making a big impact on the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am San Clemente Lover, So I most Likely would be in San Clemente for the weekend hung out at the Beach and show them the variations of Bars and Restaurants we have in San Clemente. I would love to take him to a nice dinner at Rare Society, a nice and cute breakfast at Choupain , also enjoy the Beach by the pier because it has the best view and good amount of sea food restaurants like Pier Side. Also I would love to take him to get som e drinks at Bar Gate.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So , I first I wanted to shoutout to god, because without my faith I couldn’t get that far. I want to shoutout to my wife for all support and understanding among my journey. I wanted to shoutout my son for all his emotional support and love throughout these years keeping me calm in order to fulfill my dreams. I wanted to shoutout my Friend for supporting me and helping to make my dreams come true.
