Meet Frank Anthony | Singer-Songwriter, Model, Actor, Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Anthony and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Frank, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks are necessary, especially if you are in the entertainment industry. I had to mentally prepare myself for the answer “No” numerous amount of times, but also understand that just because that is an answer for one person, it does not mean it is a answer for everyone. Taking risks has played a huge role in my career. At 22 years old, I left my family and friends in my hometown of South Jamaica, Queens, NY to pursue my career and come to Los Angeles. It was probably the biggest risk I’ve taken but it opened more doors than I could even imagine doing so.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always had a background in music and theater. Growing up, I was the Praise Team leader at my church, singing for crowds of people every Sunday morning. I also majored in theater in high school. Both of these played a huge role in my career today. Over the years I’ve been able to perform for thousands of people, I’ve done a series of TV shows and acting gigs. I also released my first album “QUESTIONS.” In 2021 followed with a short film with the same title to show the story behind my album (available on YouTube). To get to the road I currently am I, it was not easy in the slightest. Financially it was rough! As an independent artist and creative, I have put out a lot of money to not make nearly as much back. As a creative though, I do not regret any of it because I know my work, my story, my drive, inspires so many people. There was times where I had hit rock bottom. I suffered from depression, been homeless, questioned if what I was doing was even worth it. Looking back, everything I went through honestly made me stronger and gave me more determination to get to where I am right now. One major thing I learned on this journey is to love yourself and be easy on yourself. You’re going to have good days, you’re also going to have horrible ones. Staying focused and really analyzing the fact that you are only human will help you accelerate in the things you want to achieve.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am someone who love nature, so hiking would be in my itinerary. I love going to Eaton Canyon Falls, one of my favorite waterfalls in LA. I also love nightlife. I am of Caribbean descent, so I enjoy going to whatever Caribbean events are happening in the area during that season. One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles is Sonaritas DTLA, they have the best Quesadillas in town!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shout out God first. This journey has been a long one, but believing in something has kept me on a straight and focused path throughout the whole ride! I also want to shout out my friends, family, and fans who has supported me every step of my journey, especially in my darker times. I also want to shout out my mother for always being there for me and keeping me grounded and reminding me who I am constantly. I love you all so much and truly appreciate everyone!
